Which SWC cable option should I use for my radio?

My steering wheel controls don't work. What should I do?

First, check the internal DIP switch on the module. Remove the plastic casing and switch from 3.3V to 5V if needed. Also ensure you are using the correct SWC cable (Option A or B) and that the aftermarket radio's SWC settings are properly programmed. For Alpine iLX series, select 'With Adapter' in the SWC settings.

Do I need to cut the RCA cables for non-amplified systems?

Yes, for non-amplified vehicles, cut the RCA cables and connect the colored wires directly to the aftermarket radio's speaker wires. For amplified systems (Bose), do NOT cut the RCA cables to avoid degrading audio quality.

How do I get accessory power if the red wire doesn't work (push-start vehicles)?

Use the ignition power output wire (red/black) from the module instead of the red accessory wire. Alternatively, use the included optional accessory wire and tap it to a specific pin in the factory harness as detailed in the manual for your vehicle (e.g., Pin 7 on 20-pin connector for 2013 Rogue, Pin 20 on 24-pin for 2014 Rogue push-start).

Is the SWRNS-63S compatible with aftermarket radios that have a 3.5mm SWC input?

Yes, it includes a 3.5mm to 4-pin SWC cable. If your radio has wires for SWC (SWC1, SWC2, ground), cut the 3.5mm plug and connect: Red to SWC Key1, White to SWC Key2, Shield to SWC Ground. Some radios only have SWC1 and SWC2; in that case, the shield wire is not needed.

Will the module work with a 360 panoramic camera?

No, the SWRNS-63S retains the factory rear view camera but NOT the 360 panoramic camera system. For vehicles with 360 camera, a different interface may be required.

Can I install this module myself?

SWC Troubleshoot option

- If Steering Wheel Controls don't work or work properly please switch internal dip switch from 3v3 to 5v as shown in picture above.
NOTE: For Atoto, Blaupunkt, Dual, Farenheit, Nakamichi, Power Acoustik, Soundstream, and most off-brand radios, check the aftermarket radio's manual to see if the SWC buttons need to be programmed.

4-PIN SWC CABLE

Use the proper 3.5MM to 4-Pin SWC cable for the aftermarket radio you are using.

OPTION A is used for ALPINE, CLARION, JVC, and KENWOOD units (Blue/Yellow wire is attached) OPTION B is used for ATOTO, BLAUPUNKT, BOSS, DUAL, FARENHEIT, JENSEN, POWER ACOUSTIK, PIONEER, SONY, SOUNDSTREAM and Most Off-Brand Radios.

NOTE: Cap or insulate the 3.5mm plug or Blue/Yellow wire if not being used.

For aftermarket radios that have wires for SWC connections, cut off the 3.5mm plug on the Crux SWC Cable (option B) and connect the SWC wires as follows:

Note that there are some radios that only have SWC1 and SWC2, in this case "shield" does not need to be connected.

STEERING WHEEL CONTROL TROUBLE SHOOTING:

Note: Identify Alpine SWC learning radios by checking for three SWC cables and a SWC learn menu, instead of a 3.5mm SWC input.

1 - Find the included SWC adapter cable.

1 - Identify appropriate SWC adapter cable. Do not use cable with Blue / Yellow wire.

2 - Prepare the SWC Cable: Cut the SWC cable. You will find a red wire, a white wire, and a ground (shield) wire inside.

3 - Adjust the Module Settings: Set the module to the Pioneer dip switch setting. This configures the module to communicate correctly with the Alpine radio.

4 - Configure the Alpine Radio: On your Alpine radio, select the setting that includes an adapter for SWC. This ensures the radio will recognize the steering wheel controls.

5 - Connect the Wires: Connect both the SWC1 and SWC2 wires from aftermarket radio to the red wire from our SWC cable. Connect the SWC ground wire to the shield (ground) wire of our SWC cable. These steps should enable the steering wheel controls on your Alpine iLX series radio.

1. Program the SWC: Navigate to the SWC settings on your Alpine radio to assign and test each control function.
