Grinding tips
- Coarse ground coffee is used in percolators and bistro jugs. Medium ground coffee is used in coffee makers and mocha brewers. Fine ground coffee is used in espresso machines.
- Vary the grinding time according to taste and the type of coffee beans.
- For fresh coffee and best flavour only grind as much coffee as you need for each occasion. Coffee beans can be stored for up to two months in airtight containers and can be ground when frozen. Ground coffee left in the grinding chamber can go bad and affect the taste of newly ground coffee. Always clean the grinding chamber, blades and lid after use.
- Only use the coffee grinder to grind coffee. Never grind moist, hard and rubbery food such as whole ginger, chocolate, sesame seeds or spices rich in oil such as cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Do not grind peanuts or wheat, rice, barley or dried maize. This type of food can damage the appliance. Never crush ice in the appliance.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
- Unplug the plug from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Never immerse the power cord, plug or coffee grinder in water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock.
- Wash the lid with a mild detergent. It is not dishwasher-safe. Rinse well and allow to dry.
- Wipe the inside of the grinder chamber and wipe the blades with a non-fluffing cloth. Be careful – the blades are very sharp.
