Press any key on the keyboard: the Black Screen function (Fn+F6) turns off the backlight to save power. If that doesn't work, check the power supply and the brightness (Fn+F9/F10).

How do I enable or disable the touchpad?

Use the key combination Fn + F7. The corresponding icon (a touchpad with a line through it) appears on the screen to confirm the change.

Can I use an eSATA device?

Yes, the USB/eSATA port (number 4, left view) supports eSATA devices. Note that if you connect an eSATA device, you will then have three USB ports available.

How do I eject a disc from the optical drive without turning on the computer?

Insert a straightened paperclip into the emergency eject hole located next to the eject button (right view). This works even when the computer is off.

What does the orange or blue battery indicator mean?

The indicator is orange when the battery is charging. It turns blue when the battery is fully charged and the computer is plugged into AC power.

How do I physically lock my computer?

Use the Kensington lock slot located on the right side. Wrap the cable around a fixed object, insert the lock into the slot, and turn the key.

Can I replace the battery or hard drive myself?

Yes, the battery is accessible via a release latch underneath. The hard drive is secured with screws in its bay. For the RAM, open the memory compartment. Refer to the manual for detailed procedures.
