Frequently Asked Questions - Trike Big Wheeler 565D GUDE

How to start the Trike Big Wheeler 565D mower?
Make sure the fuel tank is full (diesel) and the battery is charged. Sit on the seat, engage the parking brake, turn the ignition key and wait for preheating (indicator light turns off). Then, turn the key to start the engine.
What engine oil to use?
Use 15W-40 or 10W-30 engine oil depending on ambient temperature. Check the manual for the exact volume (about 3 liters).
How to adjust the cutting height?
The cutting height is adjusted via a central lever (or pins) on each wheel. Turn the lever to select the desired height between 30 and 100 mm. Make sure both sides are at the same height.
The mower won't start, what to do?
First check that the operator presence switch is active (you must be seated). Check the battery, fuel level and fuses. If preheating does not work, the glow plugs may be faulty.
When and how to change the engine oil?
Change the engine oil after the first 50 hours, then every 100 hours or once a year. Place a pan under the crankcase, unscrew the drain plug and let the warm oil drain. Replace the plug and fill with new oil.
How to clean the cutting deck?
After each use, lift the cover and remove grass debris with a water jet or scraper. Avoid directing water towards the engine. Dry thoroughly before storing.
What type of battery is used?
A 12V battery, usually 60 Ah or 90 Ah. If the battery is flat, recharge it with a suitable charger or replace it.
How to replace the cutting blades?
Disconnect the spark plug for safety. Lift the mower, unscrew the central blade bolt with a wrench, remove the worn blade and install the new one respecting the rotation direction. Tighten to the recommended torque (about 50 Nm).
The mower vibrates abnormally, why?
Vibrations may come from an unbalanced or damaged blade, a worn belt or an object stuck in the deck. Check and replace parts if necessary.
Where to find spare parts for this model?
Spare parts are available at Güde dealers or online. Refer to the manual for part numbers. Blades, belts and filters are commonly available.
