How do I connect the OPT-RX1-RS485U?

Connect the receiver to your display via HDMI. Connect a Cat5e/6 cable from the transmitter (OPT-TX1-RS485U) to the RJ45 port. Power the receiver using a 5V USB power supply. The device will automatically establish a link.

What is the maximum transmission distance?

Up to 100 meters when using high-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Distances may vary with cable quality and environment.

Can I use this extender with any HDMI source?

Yes, it supports standard HDMI sources up to 1080p@60Hz. It is compatible with Blu-ray players, game consoles, PCs, and more. The RS485 pass-through must be compatible with your control system.

Does it require a dedicated transmitter?

Yes, the OPT-RX1-RS485U must be paired with the Webgate OPT-TX1-RS485U transmitter (sold separately). They are designed to work together.

How do I connect RS485 devices?

Use the screw terminal block on the receiver. Connect A (Data+) and B (Data-) to your RS485 device. The signal is passed through from the transmitter. Ensure proper termination if required.

What do the LED indicators mean?

Power LED: solid when powered. Link LED: solid when Ethernet link is established. Signal LED: blinks when HDMI signal is detected.

Is the device plug-and-play?

Yes, no drivers or software installation is needed. Simply connect all cables and power on. The extender will automatically detect and synchronize.

Can I daisy-chain multiple receivers?

No, this model only supports point-to-point connection (one transmitter to one receiver). For multiple displays, use a splitter before the transmitter.

What should I do if there is no video?

Check all cable connections. Ensure the transmitter is powered and the source is active. Verify the Cat cable is properly terminated. Try a shorter cable to test. The LEDs should indicate power and link.

How to clean and maintain the device?

Unplug the device. Wipe the exterior with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any liquids or abrasive cleaners. Keep the ventilation holes clear. Store in a dry place.

Device connection method

1. Connect camera's video output to Transmitter's "HD-SDLIn" using coaxial cable.
2. To control camera OSD or PTZ, connect RS485 line between Transmitter and camera.

3. Please refer to "NOTICE of coaxial cable" regarding the maximum transmission distance of HD-SDL.

4. Connect Transmitter and Receiver using Single mode LC Type fiber-optic cable.

5. When connecting optical cable to the converter, insert fully until you hear a click sound.

6. As shown in Figure 1, pull the lever to lock the optical cable not to fall off from the converter.

7. Connect Receiver's "HD-SDI Out" to DVR's "HD-SDI In" using coaxial cable.

8. To control camera OSD or PTZ, connect RS485 line between Receiver and DVR

9. Check the status of LED indicators to confirm the correct connections

10. Power: Red LED will be lit if the power is on.
11. HD-SDI: Green LED will be lit if the video signal enters.
12. Optic: Green LED will be lit if Transmitter and Receiver are connected each other.

13. RS485: Green LED will be blinking during data is being entered.

14. Check the monitor that is connected to DVR whether all channels are properly displayed

Precautions

Fiber-Optic Cable

1. For cable connection, do not bend the cable narrower than 30mm
   (Minimum allowable refraction range).
2. Do not pull the cable from both ends.
3. Do not spin the optical cable while the
   cable is connected to connector.
4. Do not knot the optical cable.

Coax Cable

1. HD-SDI maximum transmission distance depends on
   the cable manufacturer or installation environment.
2. The impedance of the coaxial cable and BNC
   connectors must be 75 Ohm. For your reference, please refer to the below table of cable recommendation.

Note) When selecting a cable, consider the maximum
transmission distance of the cable which depends on
its attenuation at 750MHz
(dB/100m <25dB of attenuation is recommended.)

Trouble Shooting
