The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of the body temperature? The minimum measurement time until the signalling tone (beep) must be maintained without exception!

The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by children. Therefore never leave the thermometer unattended to children. Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking!

Do not expose the thermometer to high temperatures or direct NEVER BOIL THE THERMOMETER!

Use only the disinfectants listed in the "cleaning and disinfection"

section to clean the thermometer. If the ambient temperature exceeds 0.8, improve the flexible tip

If the ambient temperature exceeds 350, Immense the flexible tip of the thermometer in cold water for about 5-10 seconds before

measuring the temperature.

WARNING: The thermometer contains a long-life battery. For disposal, please

comply with local regulations for special waste.

TURNING ON THE THERMOMETER

Before using the thermometer, disinfect the probe. To switch it on, press the ON/OFF button near the display; a short audible signal shows that the thermometer is on. A display test will be performed automatically. When “Lo” appears and “C” or “F” starts flashing, the thermometer is ready to use. If the ambient temperature is lower than 32°C (or 89.6°F), “Lo”C or “Lo”F will appear on the monitor, while if it is higher than 42°C (or 107.6°F), “Hi”C or “Hi”F will appear.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES

The battery is flat and needs to be replaced when the symbols — or — appear on the right-hand side of the display. Remove the battery cover and replace the battery with one of the same type, respecting the polarity.

The device is covered by a 24 months warranty from date of purchase for any defects in the design or in the materials used. The warranty consists in the replacement and/or repair free of change of originally defective components. The warranty does not cover the accessories supplied with the device and those parts subject to normal wear and tear. The device must be repaired by authorized technical service centres only. "The device must be sent to the authorized service centre for repair within 8 days after the defect is noticed. Transport costs for the device are at user's charge. Any repair out of warranty conditions are at user's charge. The warranty does not cover failures resulting from misuse, abuse of the product or in case the damage is not due to manufacturer's liability, Accidental fall, rough transportation, etc." The warranty does not involve any compensation for any kind of damages to persons or things, either direct or indirect, occurred when the device is not operating. USING THE THERMOMETER

During measurement, the temperature is shown on the display continuously and the «C» (or "F") symbol flashes. The temperature is considered constant when the increase in temperature is less than 0.1°C in 4 seconds. As soon as the temperature is reached, the audible signal will sound 4 times, the «C» (or F) symbol will stop flashing and the temperature will appear on the monitor. To make the battery last longer, switch the thermometer off after use by pressing the ON/OFF button briefly. The thermometer will switch itself off automatically after about 10 minutes.

STORAGE OF MEASURED VALUES

Switch off the thermometer and press the ON/OFF button for about 2 seconds. The last measurement and «C» or «F» will automatically appear on the monitor. The temperature will be visible until the ON/OFF button is held down. The value is stored in the memory until a new measurement is taken.

MEASURING METHODS

In the mouth (oral): Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or right of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good contact with the tissue. Close your mouth and breath evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement from being influenced by inhaled/exhaled air. Do not eat or drink anything before the measurement.

In the anus (rectal): This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appropriate for infants and small children. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2 cm into the anal aperture. Approx. measuring time: 9 -11 seconds.

In the armpit (axillary): From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and should not be used if precise measurements are required. Approx. measuring time: 23 -29 seconds.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING

The best way to clean the thermometer probe is to disinfect it with a damp cloth (70% ethyl alcohol). Do not clean with abrasive solvents.
