What batteries can I charge with the Stabila SC30?

The Stabila SC30 is designed for Li-Ion batteries with a nominal voltage of 3.6V or 3.7V. It supports most standard rechargeable batteries used in power tools and measuring devices.

How do I know when the battery is fully charged?

The LED indicator will turn red during charging and switch to green when the battery is fully charged. It is safe to leave the charger connected after full charge; the charger automatically switches to trickle charging.

Can I leave the battery in the charger overnight?

Yes, the SC30 has overcharge protection. Once the battery is full, the charger stops active charging and only provides a maintenance trickle charge. However, it is always best to disconnect once fully charged for optimal battery life.

What does it mean if the LED is flashing red?

A flashing red LED typically indicates a fault condition, such as a short circuit, reverse polarity, or a defective battery. Remove the battery and check connections. If the problem persists, contact support.

Can I charge a dead battery?

The charger can recover deeply discharged Li-Ion batteries (above 2.5V). If the battery voltage is too low (< 2.0V), the charger may not recognize it and will show a fault. Try a slow charge or replace the battery.

Is the SC30 charger waterproof?

No, the SC30 is not waterproof. It should only be used in dry indoor conditions. Avoid exposure to rain, moisture, or extreme humidity to prevent electrical hazards.

What is the input voltage range?

The charger accepts 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, making it suitable for worldwide use with appropriate plug adapters.

How long does it take to charge a 2.0 Ah battery?

What should I do if the charger gets hot?

Some warming is normal during charging. If it becomes excessively hot (over 60°C), unplug immediately. Ensure proper ventilation and do not cover the charger. If overheating persists, have it checked by a professional.

1. Declaration of Conformity:

We bear sole responsibility and hereby declare that these chargers, identified by type and serial number 1 , meet the relevant requirements of the directives 2 and standards 3 ). Technical documents for 4 ) – see page 2.

2. Specified use

• The chargers are only suitable for charging CAS (Cordless Alliance System) battery packs.
• This device is not designed for use by persons with physical, sensory or mental disabilities, or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions on how to use the device by this person.
• SC 30-36 is suitable for charging Li-ion battery packs (12 V to 18 V, 1.3 Ah to 10 Ah, 3 to 10 cells).

Never attempt to charge batteries that are not rechargeable. Danger of explosion!

The user bears sole responsibility for any damage caused by improper use.

Generally accepted accident prevention regulations and the enclosed safety information must be observed.

3. General safety information

4. Special safety information

• For your own protection and for the protection of your electric tool, pay attention to all parts of the text that are marked with this symbol.
• Danger – electrical voltage!
• A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from faulty Li-ion battery packs.
• If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If battery fluid comes into contact with your eyes, wash them with clean water and seek medical attention immediately.
• Do not recharge a fully charged battery pack.
• Only designed for indoor use.
• Protect your charger from moisture.
• Never allow children to use the device.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• Keep children away from the charger and working area.
• Store your charger out of the reach of children.
• Pull out the mains plug immediately if the charger starts to smoke or flames emerge.
• Do not insert objects into the ventilation slots of the charger – there is a danger of electric shocks and short circuits.
• Do not use faulty battery packs.

6. Commissioning

• Before commissioning, check that the rated mains voltage and mains frequency specified on the type plate match your power supply.
• Devices like these that generate direct current can influence simple residual current circuit breakers. Use a type F or better with a release current of max. 30 mA.
• Before commissioning the charger, ensure that the air slots are free. Minimum distance from other objects is 5 cm /1,97 inch !

6.1 Self-test

• Plug in the mains plug.
• The warning display (4) and operation display (3) light up one after the other for approx. 1 second.

7. Use

7.1 Charging the battery pack

The operation display (3) flashes.

Note: To have the charge level displayed on Li-ion battery packs, first remove the battery pack from the charger and then press the button on the battery pack.

7.2 Conservation charge

100%

Once the charging process has finished, the charger automatically switches to conservation mode.

The battery pack can remain in the charger and is thus always ready for use.

The operation display (3) lights up continuously.

8. Faults

8.1 Warning display (4) lights up continuously

Battery pack is not charged. Temperature too high/too low. If the temperature of the battery pack is between 0^ C and 50^ C / 32^ F and 122^ F, the charging process starts automatically.

8.2 Warning display (4) flashes

• Battery pack is faulty. Remove the battery pack from the charger immediately.
• The battery pack was not pushed onto the sliding seat (2) correctly. See chapter 7.1.

9. Repairs

Repairs to the charger must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or the Customer Service department of the manufacturer or a similarly qualified person to prevent any hazards.

10. Environmental protection

Observe national regulations on environmentally compatible disposal and on the recycling of disused machines, packaging and accessories.

Only for EU countries: Never dispose of electric tools in your household waste. According to European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste from electrical and electronic equipment and implementation in national law, used electric tools must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner.
