Frequently Asked Questions - PM0.3BD FOSTEX

What is the best way to position the PM0.3BD speakers?
Place them at ear level, forming an equilateral triangle with your listening position. Ensure they are on a stable surface and at least 10 cm away from walls to avoid bass buildup.
Can I use these speakers with a subwoofer?
Yes, you can connect a subwoofer using the RCA outputs if your audio interface or preamp has a sub out. Alternatively, split the signal before the speakers.
What type of cable should I use?
Use high-quality RCA cables for unbalanced connections. For longer runs, consider balanced cables if your source supports them (though PM0.3BD only has RCA).
How do I clean the speakers?
Unplug the speakers and wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or water. The grille can be gently vacuumed with a brush attachment.
What should I do if there is no sound?
Check that the power cable is connected, the speaker is turned on, the volume is up, and the input source is active. Verify cables are securely plugged into both the speaker and source.
Are the PM0.3BD speakers magnetically shielded?
Yes, they are magnetically shielded, making them safe for placement near analog CRT monitors or other sensitive equipment.
What is the frequency response of these monitors?
The PM0.3BD delivers a frequency response from 70 Hz to 35 kHz, providing accurate sound reproduction for mixing and critical listening.
Can I mount these speakers on a wall?
The PM0.3BD does not have built-in mounting points. Use a third-party wall mount designed for small speakers, and ensure it supports the weight (2.2 kg each).
How do I adjust the volume?
Each speaker has a front-panel rotary volume knob. Adjust it to your desired level. For balanced stereo, match both knobs to the same setting.
What is the warranty period?
Fostex typically offers a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. Check your local distributor for specific terms. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
