Thank you for purchasing the Steam iron with refill water tank Innoliving INN-681.

Carefully read the instructions for use before proceeding with the use of the product and keep this instruction manual for future consultation.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Carefully read the warnings contained in this booklet as they provide important information concerning safe installation, use and maintenance. By doing this you will avoid mishaps and possible accidents that could compromise your safety.
• After removing the packaging, check the integrity of the appliance. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact an authorized assistance center.
• The packing elements (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) must not be left within the reach of children or people with reduced mental capacities, as they are potential sources of danger.
• Always make sure that the mains voltage is the same as that indicated on the technical data label and that the system is compatible with the power of the appliance.
• This appliance is intended for domestic use only for ironing fabrics. Any other use is to be considered improper and dangerous.
• The iron must always be switched off before connecting or disconnecting the plug from the mains. Do not pull the cord to disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet.
• If the power cord is damaged or defective, it must be replaced by an authorized technical assistance service or by the manufacturer, to avoid any danger.

- If you decide not to use the appliance any longer, it is recommended to render it inoperative by cutting the power cable (after having removed the plug from the socket). It is also recommended to render harmless those parts which could constitute a potential danger, especially for children, who could use the appliance when it is out of order for their games.

- Do not touch the metal parts of the product, hot water, or steam. These parts get very hot and can cause burns. Be careful when turning the iron upside down, hot water left in the tank could come out.

- Do not let the plug or cord meet the hot plate. Allow the

product to cool completely before storing.

• Unplug the product from the power outlet before filling or emptying the water tank.
• Disconnect the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use, before proceeding with any cleaning or maintenance operation.
• To avoid overloading the circuit, do not use another high voltage appliance in the same electrical circuit while using the iron.
• The use of adapters, multiple sockets and extension cords is not recommended. If necessary, use only approved devices that comply with current safety standards, making sure that they are compatible with the power of the appliance. If in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel.
• Do not use the product if it has been dropped if there is visible damage or if you notice leaks.
• Before using the product for the first time, make sure you have removed any stickers or protective films on the soleplate. We recommend cleaning the plate with a soft cloth moistened with water.
• The cleaning and maintenance operations described in this manual must not be performed by children without adult supervision.
• Do not use the appliance with bare feet or with wet hands and feet.

• Do not use the appliance in the presence of explosives, highly flammable substances, gases, or open flames.

• Do not use the appliance outside the domestic environment.

• Never use unforeseen accessories for any reason as they could create serious danger.

• Use the product on a flat and stable surface.
• The iron must be used and left to rest on a stable and heat resistant surface.
• Do not leave the iron and the power cord within the reach of children under the age of 8 if it is plugged in or while it is cooling down.
• Before using the product for the first time, it is recommended to test it first on an old piece of cloth to make sure that the soleplate and tank have been properly cleaned.
• Do not place heavy objects on cables or heat sources near them. The cables could be damaged. Do not place objects on the appliance, risk of fire.
• Do not use spray nebulizers (insecticides, hair sprays, etc.), it could cause damage to the casing.
• In the event of anomalous situations, switch off the appliance immediately and contact the dealer or the after-sales service.
• Do not use this appliance connected to programmers, an

external timer, a separate remote-control system, timers, or any other device which may turn it on automatically.

• Do not fix safety switches with adhesive tape, due to fire hazard.
• It is absolutely forbidden to disassemble or repair the appliance due to the danger of electric shock; if necessary, contact the dealer or assistance center.
• Do not insert metal objects into the slots of the appliance.

• The user must not leave the iron unattended when it is connected to the power supply.
• When placing the iron on its iron rest, make sure that the surface on which the base is placed is stable.
• Do not direct the steam jet towards people, animals or electrical sources such as: sockets, operating electrical appliances, light fixtures, etc.
• Always make sure that the materials or surfaces to be ironed are suitable for steam ironing and always select the right temperature.
• Observe the fabric manufacturer's instructions regarding ironing the materials. In the absence of information, always do a small test on a less visible point of the material. If damage is noticed during the test, avoid using the iron on that material.
• Do not introduce any cleaning agents or chemicals into the boiler.

• During use, never place the iron soleplate on the power cord.

• Do not turn the appliance upside down for any reason during operation.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended or unnecessarily switched on, especially with an empty tank, as this could damage it.

FIRST USE

Before using the appliance for the first time, make sure it is switched off and not connected to the mains.

Clean the external surface of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

Attention: when using the iron for the first time, a slight odor and a small amount of smoke may come out of the appliance. This is normal and will disappear immediately with use. Make sure there is sufficient air circulation around the appliance.

FILLING THE WATER TANK

1) Make sure the iron is turned off and unplugged from the mains.

2) Check that the steam control button is in the "steam OFF" position.

3) Position the iron on the base and remove the tank by pulling it with the specific handle.

4) Fill the special graduated container with water and carefully pour the water into the tank.

5) Reposition the water tank on the base, up to the position where you hear a click.

Attention: It is recommended to use demineralized water to fill the water tank rather than tap water, as tap water with more impurities and minerals can create limescale, which can damage the iron.

Warning: do not fill the tank with hot water.

Warning: never add descaling, aromatic, alcoholic or detergent products into the appliance, as this could damage the appliance or make it dangerous to use.

USING THE IRON

After filling the water tank, wait 5 minutes to give the filter the time necessary to transform hard water into soft water, to preventi calcification.

STEAM IRON

When steam ironing for the first time, it is recommended to test on a smooth cloth first to check that the iron is operating at the correct temperature. Try this without using the steam mode.

1) Fill the tank following the instructions in the "Filling the tank" section.

2) Connect the iron to the mains and turn the temperature control knob clockwise.

3) To increase the temperature of the iron, turn the regulator clockwise to the desired temperature level. Reduce the temperature by turning the regulator anti-clockwise. The temperature indicator light turns on to signal that the iron is heating up; this indicator goes off when the iron is ready for use.

4) Select the steam setting by pressing and holding the steam button. The steam can be deactivated at any time by releasing the steam button.

5) Press the "Continuous steam lock" button to have steam continuously, without pressing the steam button.

6) After use, turn the temperature regulator to 'MIN', then disconnect the steam iron from the mains.

Attention: To produce steam, the temperature regulator must be set to at least the second temperature level.

Warning: When the iron is not in use, make sure it is placed on its base.

Attention: Do not iron the same area of the fabric for a long time, this can damage the fabric.

Warning: The cable coming out of the iron can become very hot during use, do not touch it.

IRON WITHOUT STEAM

1) The water tank does not need to be filled if you iron without steam; if full The water tank does not need to be filled to iron without steam; if it is full, it can be emptied or left so that it is ready for the next use with steam.

2) Plug in the iron and turn the steam control clockwise

3) To increase the temperature of the iron, turn the regulator clockwise to the desired temperature level. Reduce the temperature by turning the regulator anti-clockwise. The temperature indicator light turns on to signal that the iron is heating up; this indicator

goes off when the iron is ready for use.

4) After use, turn the temperature regulator to 'MIN', then disconnect the steam iron from the mains.

VERTICAL IRONING

1) Hang the garment to be ironed so that it can be ironed vertically.
2) Fill the tank as indicated in the tank "Filling the water tank"
3) Turn the temperature selection knob to at least the second temperature level.
4) Position the iron about 20 cm from the fabric and spray in the direction of the garment, pressing the steam button or the continuous steam lock button, working with short bursts of steam to remove creases.

LOCKING DEVICE

The simple locking device on the base allows you to move the iron easily. To lock the iron, lift it up until you hear a click.

Before using the iron, return the lock to its original position by gently pressing it down.

TIPS AND ADVICE

The iron takes less time to heat up than it takes to cool down, therefore it is advisable to set the temperature on a lower level and then increase it gradually when necessary.

It is advisable to use the steam button for short bursts of steam rather than for prolonged periods of time. This prevents drops of water from leaking out of the holes and reduces the frequency with which you have to refill the tank.

Before use, check the labels on the garments and fabrics to be ironed in order to select the correct temperature.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before proceeding with any cleaning and maintenance operation, disconnect the iron from the electrical socket and let it cool down for approximately 30 minutes.

Discard the remaining water from the water tank to prevent it from overflowing during cleaning.

Clean the steam iron with a soft, damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. To remove any buildup around the steam holes, use a cotton ball moistened with ethyl alcohol. Wipe off methylate with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Do not immerse the steam iron in water or other liquids. The limescale filter should be cleaned every 2-4 weeks, depending on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water in your area. Remove the water tank and the limescale filter by following the instructions in the "Filling the water tank" section. Immerse the anti-limescale filter in white wine vinegar for at least 4 hours; then rinse it with tap water and put it back in the water tank. Replace the water tank by inserting it back into the base until it clicks into place.

STORAGE

Before storing the steam iron, make sure it has cooled down and dried completely.

Check that the water tank is empty. Store the cord and steam hose into the slot on the base; do not overtighten the cable as it may damage it. Place the steam iron on the rubber support of the base; this prevents the ceramic soleplate from scratching.

Store in a cool, dry place.

TROUBLESHOOTING
