Tips for best straightening results
Tips for effective styling
- You can achieve a greater effect by dampening your hair.
- If it is difficult to straighten, please apply a styling product (for hair straightening) before using the straightener.
1 Brush your hair.
- Ensure that it is lying in the same direction.
2 Slightly dampen your hair.
- When dampening your hair, do so evenly on the inside and outside.
Notes
- If your hair is too wet, it will not set properly. In this case, semi-dry your hair until it reaches the appropriate level of dampness.
- If your hair is dry, effects of nanoe™ may not be achieved depending on your hair condition.
- Using the high-temperature Iron Plate on wet hair causes steam.
- If styling products get onto this unit, clean it off. (Refer to page 16.)
3 For beautiful straightening, bundle and pin to hold your hair in the order shown in the illustration.
- Although it may appear to be time consuming, it is the fastest way to straighten hair neatly.

How to bundle your hair
Part your hair evenly to the left and right, and divide your hair.

us6
2 Divide the hair on the rear of your head into six parts from top to bottom.

3 Twist each bundle of hair into a roll, then pin to hold.

Styling order
Start styling from the bottom on the back of your head in the order of 1 to 5 (6 to 10 as well).

Hair types and straightening guidelines
The hair straightening effect may differ among individuals by the degree of curliness and hair type.
Hard-to-straighten hair
Coarse hair, Kinked hair
About hair-straightening products
- Do not use the straightener immediately after a home straight perm liquid is used. Doing so may damage your hair. (The straightener may be used 3-4 days after a straight perm liquid. The straightener may also be used 3-4 days after having your hair treated at a beauty parlor.)
- Do not use together with straight perm liquids having the same ingredients (reducing agent) as permanent wave liquids. The reducing agent may damage your hair. Check the back of cosmetic bottles whether liquid contains a reducing agent or not.
About dyeing products
- Dyeing places great stress on the hair. After dyeing please wait for 2 or 3 days before using the straightener. If you use a temporary dye, wash it out and dry your hair before use.
- It takes some time after dyeing for the color to settle. In the case of the temporary dye, the dye can dirty the straightener if it is not fully washed out. Also, your hair cannot be straightened when it is wet.
Before Use
Heating the Iron Plate
1 Release the Open/Close Lock (D).

Release
2 Insert the plug into the household outlet.
3 Press and hold the Power Switch (E) for approximately 1 second to turn on the straightener.
- The Illumination Lamp (B) glows.
- Confirm that the LED Temperature Level Display (C) for 150^ C is blinking.

Notes
- Do not use the straightener if all the LED Temperature Level Displays are blinking.
4 Set a temperature by using the Temperature Level Adjustment Switches (F) according to the characteristics and condition of your hair.

| Indicator | Temperature | Wavy | Less damaged |
| 200 | Approx. 200 °C | ||
| 190 | Approx. 190 °C | Your hair type | Your hair condition |
| 180 | Approx. 180 °C | ||
| 170 | Approx. 170 °C | Straight | Damaged |
| 150 | Approx. 150 °C |
- The temperature is raised using "+" and lowered using "-" of the Temperature Level Adjustment Switches (F).
- Confirm that the LED Temperature Level Display (C) has changed.
- When the selected LED Temperature Level Display (C) stops blinking (and glows), the straightener has reached the selected temperature.
(Note that the time taken to reach operating temperature may vary depending on the operating environment.)
Notes
- When you use the straightener for the first time, be sure to set the temperature to 150^ .
- The temperature 200^ C is high and may damage your hair.
We recommend that you avoid continuous lengthy use of this level, and only use it if your hair is in a suitable condition.
- After switching on, the straightener reaches operating temperature (approximately 100^ ) after about 30 seconds.
Using the straightener
Before use, confirm that the LED Temperature Level Display (C) has stopped blinking and glows.
Straightening
1 Hold a bundle of hair with a width of approximately 5 cm.
- Do not take much hair as it may be difficult to straighten your hair.
2 Clamp the bundle of hair in the center of the Iron Plate (G).
- Use both hands and hold both Press Plate Tips (A) to straighten curly hair.
- Do not use excessive force as it may place a strain on hair ends.

3 With the hair clamped, move the straightener straight toward the hair ends.
- Move the straightener slowly (at a speed slower than ordinary brushing).
- Repeat in turn, starting from the lower portion of your bundled hair.
- When hair is clamped, do not hold the straightener in the same position.

4 After use, press and hold the Power Switch (E) for approximately 1 second to turn off the straightener.

Style your hair using hair cream, wax, etc.
Notes
- Steam will be generated when you apply the high-temperature Iron Plate (6) to wet hair.
- Avoid using flammable styling products, since they may generate gases when heated.
- Avoid accidentally touching the Temperature Level Adjustment Switches (F) and changing the temperature during use.
After Use
1 Remove the plug from the household outlet.
2 Shut the Iron Plate (G) with the Open/Close Lock (D) to store it.

About the Intelligent Sensing System
- If you leave the straightener for a certain amount of time when it is set to a high temperature, the temperature automatically falls to 170^ to prevent this unit from becoming too hot.
(The LED Temperature Level Display () will alternate blinking between the set temperature and 170^. )
| Set Temperature | Time Left Alone | Decreased Temperature |
| 200 °C | 15 minutes | 170 °C |
| 190 °C | ||
| 180 °C | 20 minutes |
If you begin to use this unit again, the unit will automatically return to the set temperature. (The LED Temperature Level Display () stops blinking alternately and the display of the set temperature glows.)
Notes
- If the display of the set temperature does not glow, press the "+" or "-" Temperature Level Adjustments Switches (F). The display will glow and the unit will return to the set temperature.
-
If the bundle of hair is clamped only at the end of the Iron Plate (6), the unit may not detect that it is being used. Be sure to clamp your hair in the center of the Iron Plate (6).
-
This unit will automatically turn off when 60 minutes have passed from the start of use.
The power will shut off even if you are using this unit, so in this event, please turn on the power once again.
After using this unit, even if you forget to shut off the power, after 60 minutes have passed, it will automatically turn off.
About nanoeTM
What is nanoeTM?
(nanoe™ generation method: High-voltage discharge) nanoe™ is charged fine water particles, generated by applying high voltage in order to split water. Its diameter is smaller than 1/100 of steam (approx. 6000–8000 nm), and it cannot be seen with the naked eye. Since nanoe™ is generated by collecting water in the air, it may be difficult to generate in certain cases depending on the environment.
How nanoe™ works
Generally hair has properties which make it easy to become positively charged with electricity. These properties attract strongly negatively charged nanoe™ which penetrates the hair with moisture. Furthermore, they make the hair slightly acidic, tighten cuticles and keep your hair strong, elastic and healthy.
Notes
- You may notice a characteristic odor when using this appliance. This is caused by the ozone it generates and is not harmful to the human body.
- Drops of water may blow out of the nanoe™ Outlet during use, but this is not a malfunction.
- A humming noise may come out of the nanoe™ Outlet, but this is the sound of nanoe™ being discharged and is not a malfunction.
Cleaning
Clean the straightener after it has cooled and with the plug removed from the household outlet.
Cleaning the nanoeTM Outlet (H)
- Clean the nanoe™ Outlet about once per month.
- This maintenance allows the straightener to sustain the generated level of nanoe™ over a long period.
1 Shut the Iron Plate (G) with the Open/Close Lock (D).
2 Damp the end of the Cleaning Brush (L) (included) with store-bought purified water or tap water.
3 Deeply insert the Cleaning Brush (L) (included) into the nanoeTM Outlet (H). Brush three flat portion (a) and pin-shaped portion (b) by moving the Cleaning Brush (L) (included) right and left for about ten times. (nanoeTM Outlets are located on both sides.)
Instead of using the Cleaning Brush, thin cotton swabs (for babies) can also be used.

(On both sides)
Cleaning the straightener
- When this unit has become dirty or styling products, etc. have gotten onto it, please soak a rag in soapy water, wring it out, and wipe the unit clean.
- Do not use alcohol, thinner, benzine or remover. Doing so may crack or discolor the surface of the straightener.
Troubleshooting
Problem
- Sparks are generated inside the nanoe™ Outlet.
- The nanoe™ Outlet emits a noise (crackling noise).

| Possible cause | |
| Dust, styling products, etc. are adhered to the pin-shaped portion where nanoetm is generated. | Your hair is too wet. |

| Action | |
