Chapter 2 Install Operation System
Purpose:
Recommended operation system version:
● Windows 10.0.15063.
- CentOS 7.4.1708
● Windows Server 2012
You are recommended to use USB external DVD drive to install Windows Server 2012 and CentOS system.
2.1 Install Windows System
Step 1 Create a bootable USB flash drive by using software like Refus.
Step 2 Insert the bootable USB flash drive into the device USB interface.
Step 3 Power on device. Device will enter windows setup interface.
Step 4 Click Next.

Step 6 Click I don't have a product key. You are recommended to activate Windows after finishing Windows installation.

Your product key should be in the confirmation email you received after buying a digital copy of Windows or on a label inside the box that Windows came in. Step 13 After reboot, OS will enter OOBE (Out-of-box experience) model. In this model, you can create your account and key, and customize your operation system.
2.2 Install Linux System
Purpose:
The device supports Ubuntu16.04.03 64-bit operation system. Follow the steps to install Ubuntu operation system on device.
Before you start:
Download the Ubuntu16.04.03 64-bit operation system from Ubuntu official site.
● Prepare a 2.0 or 3.0 USB flash drive with no more than 64 GB capacity, and the format is FAT32.
● Extract the Ubuntu operation system to the USB flash drive.
Step 1 Insert the USB flash drive which contains Ubuntu operation system to the device USB interface.
Step 2 Turn on device. The installation interface will appear.
Step 3 Click Install Ubuntu.

Chapter 3 Start Device up
3.1 Windows System
Proper startup and shutdown procedures are crucial to extend your device life.
Step 1 Check the power supply is plugged into an electrical outlet. It is HIGHLY recommended to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in conjunction with the device.
Step 2 Turn on the power switch at the rear panel.
Step 3 After power up, the device will enter OOBE model. You can select your region, preferred language, keyboard layout, and time zone.

3.2 Linux System

Chapter 4 HDD Installation
Purpose
The following section introduces the HDD installation. 2.5-inch HDD and 3.5-inch HDD are supported.
Before you start
Disconnect the power from the device before installing a hard disk drive (HDD). A factory recommended HDD should be used for this installation.
Tools Required: Screwdriver.
Step 1 For 3.5-inch HDD, fix mounting ears to HDD with screws.

Step 2 Unlock the front panel with the attached key, and press the buttons on both sides of the front panel to open it.

Step 3 Insert the HDD until it is fixed firmly.
