Frequently Asked Questions - RACP-80D Grunkel

How do I set the desired temperature?
Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to increase temperature or counterclockwise to decrease. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
Can I use the heater in a bathroom?
This heater is designed for indoor use only and should not be used in wet areas like bathrooms. Keep away from water sources to avoid electric shock.
Why does the heater turn off automatically?
The heater has an overheat protection feature. If it gets too hot due to blocked airflow or high ambient temperature, it will shut off. Allow it to cool down and remove any obstructions.
How do I clean the heater?
Unplug the heater and let it cool. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For the air intake grille, a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment can be used. Never use liquid cleaners.
What does the tip-over switch do?
If the heater is accidentally knocked over, the tip-over switch immediately cuts off power to prevent fire hazards. Simply upright the heater to reset it.
Can I leave the heater unattended?
While the heater has safety features, it is recommended to never leave it unattended for long periods, especially near children or pets.
Why is there a strange smell when using the heater for the first time?
A slight smell is normal during initial use as dust and manufacturing residues burn off. Ensure the room is ventilated. The smell should disappear after a few uses.
Does the heater have a fan-only mode?
Yes, some models include a fan-only mode (marked as 'Fan' on the power knob). This circulates air without heating, useful for summer.
How do I reset the heater after overheating?
Unplug the heater, let it cool down for at least 15 minutes, and then plug it back in. Turn the thermostat to the desired setting. If the problem persists, contact support.
Where can I find spare parts?
Contact Grunkel customer service or visit an authorized service center. Provide the model number RACP-80D for correct parts such as heating element, fan motor, or thermostat.
