User's Manual of PLANET QSFP+ Transceiver
For Models: QSFP-40G-SR4/QSFP-40G-LR4
Rev: 1.0 (December, 2017)
Part No: 2350-AG0890-000
1. Overview
Thank you for purchasing PLANET QSFP+ Transceiver which includes the Ethernet module of the QSFP-40G-SR4 and QSFP-40G-LR4.
The QSFP+ 40G Ethernet modules can be installed in PLANET switch products with 40G QSFP+ interface. The QSFP+ transceivers can be extended from a distance of 100m (multi-mode, MPO/MTP) to up to 10km (single-mode, LC).
2. Checklist
Your QSFP I Package should contain the following items:
The QSFP+ Transceiver Module x 1
The User's Manual x 1
If any item is missing or damaged, please consult the dealer from whom you purchased your QSFP+ 40G Ethernet transceiver module.

4. Installing QSFP+ Transceiver Module
4-1 Install the QSFP+ Ethernet Transceiver Module
Please follow these steps to install the QSFP+ Ethernet transceiver module:
- Power on the Switch and place the Switch on a flat surface. Install the new QSFP+ Ethernet transceiver module by inserting it into the slot and sliding it in until it stops (See Figure 1). Press it firmly until you hear the module snap into place. Never force, twist or bend the QSFP+ Ethernet transceiver module. The QSFP+ Ethernet transceiver module slides in smoothly and the Switch will automatically detect the new module.

- After the Fiber connection is done successfully, check the LEDs to verify whether there is a link and a proper connection at the port.
Please refer to the user's manual for more about the Switch or module's management.
4-2 Remove the QSFP+ Ethernet Transceiver Module
- Make sure there is no network activity by consulting or checking with the network administrator.
- Remove the Fiber Optic Cable gently.
- Turn the handle or pull out the tab of the QSFP+ Ethernet Transceiver module gently.

Never pull out the QSFP+ Ethernet Transceiver module without pulling the handle or the push bolts on the module. Directly pulling out the QSFP+ Ethernet Transceiver module would damage the QSFP+ Ethernet Transceiver module.
