General Work Area Safety

• Work areas should be clean and well it.
- Do not operate the equipment if bystanders, animals etc are within operating range of the equipment or the general work area.
- If devices are provided for connecting dust extraction / collection facilities, ensure these are connected and used properly. Dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

General Personal Safety

• Wear appropriate protective equipment when operating, servicing, or when in the operating area of the equipment to help protect from eye and ear injury, poisoning, burns, cutting and crush injuries. Protective equipment such as safety goggles, respirators, non-slip safety footwear, hard hat, hearing protection etc should be used for appropriate equipment / conditions. Other people nearby should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, which can be caught in moving parts. Keep hair and clothing away from the equipment.
• Stay alert and use common sense when operating the equipment. Do not over-reach. Always maintain secure footing and balance.
• Do not use the equipment if tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
• This equipment is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities.

General Fuel Safety

• Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable – keep clear of naked flames or other ignition sources.
• Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on your clothing, change clothing.
• Do NOT smoke near fuel or when refuelling.
  • Always shut off the engine before refuelling.
• Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
• Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any pressure build-up in the tank to release slowly.
  • Always refuel in well ventilated areas.
• Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel leakage is found, do not start or run the engine until all leaks are fixed.

General Carbon-Monoxide Safety

• Using a combustion engine indoors CAN KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you cannot smell or see.
• Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only, and far away from windows, doors and vents.

General Equipment Use and Care

• The equipment is designed for domestic use only.
• Handle the equipment safely and carefully.

• Before use, inspect the equipment for misalignment or binding of moving parts, loose components, damage or any other condition that may affect its operation. If damaged, have the equipment repaired by an authorised service centre or technician before use.

• Prevent unintentional starting of the equipment - ensure equipment and power switches are in the OFF position before connecting or moving equipment. Do not carry equipment with hands or fingers touching any controls. Remove any tools or other items that are not a part of the equipment from it before starting or switching on.

• Do not force the equipment. Use the correct equipment for your application. Equipment will perform better and be safer when used within its design and usage parameters.
• Use the equipment and accessories etc. in accordance with these instructions, considering working conditions and the work to be performed. Using the equipment for operations different from those intended could result in hazardous situations.
• Always keep equipment components (engines, hoses, handles, controls, frames, housings, guards etc) and accessories (cutting tools, nozzles, bits etc) properly maintained. Keep the equipment clean and, where applicable, properly lubricated.
• Store the equipment out of reach of children or untrained persons. To avoid burns or fire hazards, let the equipment cool completely before transporting or storing. Never place or store the equipment near flammable materials, combustible gases or liquids etc.

General Electrical Safety

• Inspect electrical equipment, extension cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace damaged equipment immediately.
• Ensure all power sources conform to equipment voltage requirements and are disconnected before connecting or disconnecting equipment.
• When wiring electrically powered equipment, follow all electrical and safety codes.
• Wherever possible, use a residual current device (RCD).
• High voltage / high current power lines may be present. Use extreme caution to avoid contact or interference with power lines. Electrical shock can be fatal.

General Electrical Safety

• Electrically grounded equipment must have an approved cord and plug and be connected to a grounded electrical outlet.
• Do NOT bypass the ON/OFF switch and operate equipment by connecting and disconnecting the electrical cord.
• Do NOT use equipment that has exposed wiring, damaged switches, covers or guards.

General Service Information

• The equipment must be serviced or repaired at authorised service centres by qualified personnel only.
• Replacement parts must be original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to ensure equipment safety is maintained.
• Do NOT attempt any maintenance or repair work not described in this manual.
• After use, the equipment and components may still be hot – allow the equipment to cool and disconnect spark plugs and/or electrical power sources and/or batteries from it before making adjustments, changing accessories or performing repair or maintenance.
• Do NOT make adjustments while the equipment is running.
• Perform service related activities in suitable conditions, such as a workshop.
• Replace worn, damaged or missing warning/safety labels immediately.

Owner and/or Operator Responsibility

The owner and/or operator shall study the product instructions and retain them for future reference.

Operation

The owner and/or operator should understand the product, its operating characteristics, and safety operating instructions before operating the lift. Safety information should be emphasised and understood. If the operator Is not fluent In English, the product and safety instructions should be read to and discussed with the operator in the operator's native language by the purchaser/owner or his designee, making sure that the operator comprehends their contents.

Maintenance

The lift should be maintained in accordance with the product instruction.

• When jack is not in use, lifting arm should be in full downward position.
  • Always keep the jack clean and keep screws and bearings well-lubricated.
• Keep moving parts clean; lubricate moving parts every 3 months.

Inspection

• Visual inspection shall be made before each use of the jack by checking for any abnormal conditions such as cracked welds, leaks and damaged, loose, or missing parts.
• Other inspections shall be made per product operating instructions.
• The jack should be inspected immediately if the device is believed to have been subjected to an abnormal load or shock. It is recommended that this inspection be made by the manufacturer's or supplier's authorised repair facility.
• Owners and/or operators should be aware that repair of this equipment may require specialised knowledge and facilities. It is recommended that an annual inspection of the jack be made by a manufacturer's or supplier's authorised repair facility and that any defective parts, decals, or safety labels or signs be replaced with manufacturer's or supplier's specified parts.

Damaged Equipment

Any jack that appears to be damaged in any way, is found to be worn or operates abnormally SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE UNTIL REPAIRED. It is recommended that necessary repairs be made by a manufacturer's or supplier's authorised repair facility if repairs are permitted by the manufacturer or supplier.

Alterations

Because of potential hazards associated with this type of equipment, no alterations shall be made to the product.

Only attachments and/or adaptors supplied by the manufacturer should be used.

Safety Messages

• Use this product is limited to lifting, lowering, transporting, and storing in the lowered position. Loads consisting of a single motor vehicle whose lift points are compatible with the platform. Incompatibility is evident when the loaded vehicle wobbles, appears unstable, and /or does not securely engaged the lift platform.
• Restraining an incompatible load will not make the load secure and may cause unexpected loss of load.
• Never work on, around or under a load that is not secured and stable.
• Keep operator's and bystander's head, hands and feet away from the jack's parts when raising and lowering.
• No alterations should be made to this product.
• Only attachments and/or adapters supplied by the manufacturer should be used.

Assembly

1. Place hydraulic ram (H) onto the base (A) using 2 MBx25 hex bolts (4), 2 spring washers (2), 2 washers (1) and using bolt M5x25 (B) to fix the ram to the connecting rod (D), then tighten.
2. Insert foot pedal (I) to the hydraulic ram (H) and secure them together using a MBx30 bolt (3).
3. Place the safety lock operation rod (L) and insert to link (B) using 2 washers (6), 2 locking pins (7) and locking rod (5).
4. Insert handle (E) to the connecting rod (D) using bolt MBx30 (3).
5. Ensure that all connections are securely tightened.

Operation

Raising the Load

1. Place the jack on a hard level surface.
2. To avoid item from slipping during the raising operation, ALWAYS first determine the centre of the weight load.
3. Place the jack under the item so that the Lift Saddle is positioned under the centre of the weight load.
4. Pump the foot pedal until the lift saddle meets the load to be lifted: proceed to lock wheel casters. Always check to be sure that the saddle and the load are positioned correctly before raising the jack.
5. Use the foot pedal to raise the load: ENSURE that safety lock is secured in one of three stated lock positions once desired height has been reached.
6. Apply tie-down straps (see Securing the Load section below) once load has been raised to desired height. Thoroughly tighten the straps.
7. Stabilise loaded jack on a hard surface for maximum balance by adjusting locking screws.

Lowering the Load

1. Raise the jack slightly and pull back on the Operation Rod, releasing the Safety Lock.

2. Fasten the Operation Rod to the connecting rod if you are lowering the load completely.

3. Press the Release Valve very gently to lower the Saddle and its load.

CAUTION! Tie Down Straps will become loose and load will be released upon lowering the load.

1. Remove the tie down straps after the load is secured.

Securing the Load

1. Connect strap hooks to loop (P) and place strap over load.
2. With the strap Handle (A) in the closed position, take long strap end and slip it through the slot insertion in Spindle (B). Pull strap back over spindle.
3. Tighten the strap by ratcheting the handle back and forth until the load is secure. If necessary, take up the excess slack by hand until the strap is tight.

CAUTION! To avoid damage to the load, DO NOT over-tighten.

1. To lock ratchet, ALWAYS leave the handle in the closed position.

Releasing the Load

1. Hold the ratchet in one hand and with the other hand pull back on Release Latch (C) that is located on Handle (A).
2. While holding Release Latch (C) back, open Handle (A) fully past the locking gears until Latch (C) locks in a completely open position or until the load releases.

CAUTION! The load will release at this point.

1. To loosen or remove strap, pull up on ratchet and slide strap out or Spindle (B).

For Tie Down Strap

1. DO NOT use tie down strap for towing vehicles or to hold or suspend human weight.
2. DO NOT use extension bar lever, pliers or any tools to operate as a handle. Use hand power only.
3. Protect strap webbing from sharp edges, heat and acid. Replace strap webbing if it is cut, worn or damaged. Inspect strap webbing, hooks and hardware before each use.

Maintenance

IMPORTANT: Before performing any maintenance of the bottle jack ALWAYS detach from the frame and place on a level surface.

Air Purging Instructions

With the ram fully retracted, locate and remove the oil filler plug. Insert the foot pedal into the sleeve of the Hydraulic Ram, then pump 6 to 8 strokes. This will help release any pressurised air which may be trapped in the reservoir. Ensure that the oil level is just below the oil filler plug hole. Reinstall the oil filler plug. Sometimes during shipment and handling, air may become trapped in the hydraulic system, causing poor or no lifting.

Oil Level

IMPORTANT: When adding or replacing oil, ALWAYS use a good grade of hydraulic jack oil. NEVER use brake fluid, alcohol, glycerine, detergent motor oil or dirty oil of any kind.

Improper oil usage will cause serious internal damage to the jack.

Adding Oil

With ram fully lowered and jack on level ground, remove oil filler plug, add oil if level is more than1/2" below hole.

Replacing Oil

Oil should be replaced at least once every year. To drain oil, remove oil filler plug and release valve. BE VERY CAREFUL to not allow dirt or any foreign matter into the system.

Lubrication

Put grease on the fitting on base and lubricate lifting arm spindle with oil when needed.

Rust Prevention

With an oily cloth, clean and wipe the piston ram and pump piston every 3 months or when signs of rust or corrosion appears. When not in use, always leave the saddle and pump piston in the downward position.

Troubleshooting
