IN-DASH STEREO INSTALLATION Kit FOR 2006-UP VW JETTA/PASSAT/GOLF

INTRODUCTION/PRELIMINARY

This premium installation kit is for 2006 VW Jetta/Passat/Golf vehicles. Included are all the parts you need to mount your car stereo or CD player into your vehicle's dash. Refer to the individual instruction in this manual to remove your vehicle's factory radio and assemble the kit.

CAUTION

DISCONNECT YOUR VEHICLE'S NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE THE INSTALLATION TO HELP PREVENT ELECTRICAL DAMAGE. WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF A VOLT/OHM METER OVER A TEST LIGHT TO CHECK WIRING. A TEST LIGHT OR GROUNDED WIRE PROBE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS. AVOID ALL FACTORY AIRBAG WIRING - AIRBAGS CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

FACTORY STEREO REMOVAL

2006-UP VW JETTA/GOLF

1. Carefully insert a panel removal tool into the crack between the upper vent panel and the lower bezel that surrounds the stereo.
2. With the panel removal tool in the proper position, push in an upward motion to unsnap the vent panel from the lower bezel. The vent panel does not need to be completely removed.
3. This will expose two (2) T20 Torx head screws. Extract the two (2) screws.
4. Use the panel removal tool to unsnap the bezel surrounding the stereo.
5. Extract four (4) T20 Torx screws securing stereo. Lift away, disconnect and remove.

2006-UP VW PASSAT

1. Carefully insert a panel removal tool underneath the bezel that surrounds the stereo. Lift up to unsnap the clips in dash, and repeat around the bezel until it can be removed.
2. Extract four (4) T20 Torx screws securing stereo. Lift away, disconnect and remove.

MOUNTING THE STEREO

SINGLE DIN MOUNT

1. Attach 6552 pocket to 7234 panel using screws supplied with kit (Figure 1).
2. Attach 6688 & 6689 brackets to 7234 panel using screws supplied with kit.
3. Align and attach the aftermarket single din stereo using the hardware supplied with the stereo. Note: If hardware is not supplied with aftermarket stereo use hardware from factory stereo.
4. Reconnect stereo and finish dash reassembly.

DOUBLE DIN MOUNT

1. Attach 6688 & 6689 brackets to 7234 panel using screws supplied with kit.
2. Align and attach the aftermarket doublr din stereo using the hardware supplied with the stereo. Note: If hardware is not supplied with aftermarket stereo use hardware from factory stereo.
3. Reconnect stereo and finish dash reassembly.
