Frequently Asked Questions - FK3-302A Superior

How do I clean the kettle?
Unplug the kettle and let it cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. For interior descaling, fill half with water and add white vinegar or citric acid, boil, let sit for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Why does my kettle turn off before boiling?
This may be due to scale build-up triggering the boil-dry sensor prematurely. Descale your kettle following the cleaning instructions. Also ensure the lid is closed properly.
Can I boil milk or other liquids in the kettle?
No, this kettle is designed for water only. Boiling milk or other liquids can cause damage, clog the filter, and create a fire hazard.
How do I prevent limescale build-up?
Use filtered water to reduce scale. Regularly descale the kettle (e.g., once a month or more frequently depending on water hardness) using a descaling solution or vinegar.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The kettle automatically switches off when the water reaches boiling point. It also shuts off if the kettle is accidentally turned on without water (boil-dry protection).
Is the kettle cordless?
Yes, the kettle has a 360° rotational base for easy cordless serving. Just lift the kettle off the base to pour.
How full should I fill the kettle?
Fill between the minimum and maximum marks on the water level indicator. Overfilling may cause boiling water to spill out.
The kettle is making unusual noise. Is that normal?
A low humming or bubbling is normal. If you hear loud rattling or screeching, it often indicates limescale. Descale the kettle to reduce noise.
Can I use the kettle with a damaged cord?
No. A damaged cord can cause electric shock or fire. Stop using immediately and contact Superior customer service for replacement.
Where can I find a replacement filter?
Replacement filters can be purchased from Superior's official website or authorized retailers. Check the manual for the correct filter part number.

Prior to using this device for the first time, we recommend cleaning it by boiling and discarding water once as per the following instructions. This will remove any dust or residue remaining from manufacture.

- Place the base station on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface. Please be sure that the device cannot slide or tip over.

- Open the lid of the appliance by pressing the lid release button.

- Fill the tank with clear water. The water level must be between both water level marks (min./max.) of your unit. The device can overheat if the water level is too low. Boiling water can splash out if the water level is too high.

- Close the cover; the device will automatically switch off when the water boils only if the cover is closed.

- Place the device on the base station and connect the power plug to a power outlet.

- Please be sure that the opening to pour fluids does not face toward a person as hot steam escapes from this opening during boiling.

- Switch the main switch to "1", the control light will light up, indicating that the device is functioning. The water will now be heated.

- Please be sure that the cover is tightly closed during boiling. Danger of Burns!

- After the water has come to a boil, the device will automatically switch off. The switch will jump back to "0", the control light will go out.

• After heating the water, wait for a moment until the water no longer bubbles. Do not open the cover during boiling or pouring.

- The heating process will be shut off immediately if the device is lifted from the base station. The device will switch off.

- The water boiler is equipped with overheating protection. This will interrupt the heating process of the device if it is switched on without any water in the tank. In this case, the device must cool off for at least 15 minutes prior to filling the tank with water and re-starting the heating process.

• Pull the power plug out of the power outlet if this device is not in use.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Attention:

Always disconnect the power plug from the power outlet and allow the device to cool off completely prior to cleaning.

  • Do not submerge the device, the base station, the power cord or power plug in water.
  • The base station, the power cord and the power plug may only be cleaned with a dry cloth.
  • The outside of the water tank may be wiped with a damp cloth and then carefully dried.
  • Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents such as steel brushes, abrasive cleaners or any other hard objects; they might scratch the surface coating.

DESCALE THE DEVICE

The device must be descaled in regular intervals. The interval depends on the degree of hardness of your water and the frequency of use. To ensure the operational safety of the device, visible calcification residue must be removed immediately. To descale the unit, mix vinegar (not vinegar essence) with water, in a mixing ratio of 1:3.

  • Fill the tank with this vinegar-water-solution to the maximum water level mark, let this solution remain in the tank for about 1 hour.
  • Then bring this vinegar-water-solution to a boil and pour it out.
  • Refill the water tank with clear water, up to the maximum water level mark, bring it to a boil and pour it out.

SPECIFICATIONS
