Frequently Asked Questions - D-EJ1000 SONY

How to use the G-PROTECTION function?
The G-PROTECTION function prevents playback skips. Set the switch to 1 (standard protection) or 2 (enhanced protection) depending on the listening environment.
Why does the player not display 'Nodisc' and not read the CD?
Check that HOLD is not activated (slide the switch to normal position). If the CD is scratched or dirty, clean it. Make sure the label is facing up. Condensation may prevent playback: let the unit rest for a few hours.
How to recharge the NH-14WM battery?
Place the battery in the compartment, connect the supplied charger via the charging cradle or the DC IN 4.5 V jack. The CHARGE indicator lights up. Do not charge during playback.
How to adjust the volume with the remote control?
Pull the rotary dial toward you (in the direction of the arrow), then turn it toward VOL + or VOL -. Push it in to lock it after adjustment.
What to do if the display shows 'Lobatt' or '00'?
The batteries are exhausted. Recharge the NH-14WM battery or replace the alkaline batteries with new LR6 (AA) batteries. Preferably use alkaline batteries.
How to clean the portable CD player?
Use a dry soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Regularly clean the jack sockets with a dry cloth to avoid contact noise. Do not use solvents.
Is the player compatible with CD-R and CD-RW?
Yes, it plays audio CD-R and CD-RW discs. Make sure they have been finalized on the recorder. Disc quality and recording software may affect playback.
How to lock the buttons to prevent accidental operation?
Slide the HOLD switch on the side of the unit. In HOLD position, the buttons are disabled, and the CHARGE indicator flashes if a button is pressed.
How to use the remote control to skip to the next track?
Turn the rotary dial one click toward ▶▶ to skip to the next track, or toward ◀◀ to return to the beginning of the current track. A long press performs a fast search.
Which AC adapter to use?
Use only the AC-E45A adapter (or compatible models indicated in the manual). Plug it into a 100-240 V AC outlet. An unsuitable adapter may damage the device.

The Ground Truth image displays a single, solid horizontal line. According to Rule 2 (UNDERSCORE & LINE RULES), this is a stylistic or background line, not a placeholder underscore. Therefore, the OCR result must ignore it and output nothing or only meaningful text. The provided OCR content is "____", which consists of four underscores. This is an incorrect interpretation of the line as a placeholder, violating the rule that stylistic lines must be ignored. The OCR has hallucinated underscores where none should exist based on the GT's visual context. Hence, the OCR result is inconsistent with the Ground Truth.
