Frequently Asked Questions - D-CJ01 SONY

How to insert batteries into the Sony D-CJ01?
Open the battery compartment located on the back of the device. Insert two AA (LR6) batteries respecting the indicated polarities (+/-). Close the cover.
What to do if the player does not read the CD?
Check that the CD is clean and inserted correctly (printed side up). If the problem persists, try cleaning the lens with a dry cotton swab. Also make sure the batteries are sufficiently charged.
How to activate the anti-skip function (ESP)?
The ESP (Electronic Shock Protection) function is usually activated by default. You can deactivate it via the ESP switch on the device to save batteries. Activate it for better skip resistance when moving.
What is the battery life?
With new alkaline AA batteries, the battery life is approximately 30 hours of continuous playback (with ESP disabled). Using headphones rather than external speakers can extend the battery life.
How to clean the lens of the CD player?
Use a dry and clean cotton swab. Gently rub the lens (the small objective) in a circular motion. Do not use any solvent or liquid. Close the CD compartment after cleaning.
Can the Sony D-CJ01 play CD-R or CD-RW?
Yes, it can play CD-R and CD-RW recorded in CD-DA format (standard audio). CDs burned with other formats (MP3) are not compatible.
How to use the repeat function?
Press the 'REPEAT' button to repeat the current track (indicator 'REPEAT 1'), then a second time to repeat the entire disc (indicator 'REPEAT ALL'). Press a third time to disable.
Can I use an AC adapter?
Yes, plug a Sony AC adapter (not included) of 4.5 V DC with center positive polarity (3.5 mm jack plug). Use only a compatible adapter to avoid damaging the device.
What to do if the sound skips or crackles?
Check that the CD is not scratched or dirty. Clean it with a soft cloth from the center outward. If the problem persists, activate the ESP function. Also make sure the device is stable and not subject to vibrations.
How to reset the device?
Remove the batteries and disconnect the AC adapter. Wait about 30 seconds, then reinsert the batteries or reconnect the adapter. This resets the internal settings in case of malfunction.
