Instructions for use

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this instruction manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.
Connection to the mains supply
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. Th is product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions
Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachments should be checked thoroughly for any defects. If the appliance, for instance, has been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
Do not operate the appliance if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord. Damage cannot always be detected from the outside; the entire unit should therefore be checked by a qualified
technician before it is used again.
Great care is necessary when using this appliance, especially near children. Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected. Always remove the plug from the wall socket, even if you leave the room only for a short while.
- This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Caution: keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
- Caution: the blade is extremely sharp. To prevent the risk of injury, take special care when emptying the blender jug.
- Do not touch any moving parts during operation - this can be extremely dangerous.
- Do not fill the jug with hot liquid.
- Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to touch hot surfaces or to come into contact with any heat sources.
● Always switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the wall socket, -before opening the lid,
- before removing or fitting the blender jug, -before cleaning,
- in case of any malfunction during use, - after use.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
- No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
Caution: Misuse can cause severe personal injury.
- This appliance is only intended for domestic use and not for commercial
applications. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The address can be found in the appendix to this manual.
Before using for the first time
Before the appliance is used for the first time, the blender jug and the lid should be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section General Care and Cleaning.

The appliance offers three programmes:
Pulse: the appliance is switched on as long as the operating button is depressed
Ice crush: automatic crushing of ice cubes
Smoothie: automatic processing of beverages containing puréed fruit
Short-term operation
The appliance is designed to process average domestic quantities of food; it can be operated without interruption for a maximum of 3 minutes, after which it should be allowed to cool down to room temperature.
Safety switch
A special safety switch in the motor housing ensures that the appliance can only be operated once the blender jug and lid are is properly locked in position.
Before removing the blender jug, make sure
that the control switch is in position 0. This also applies when fitting the blender jug
- to the motor housing. If the switch is not in its off-position (0), the motor will start immediately.
Operation
- Fit the blender jug to the motor housing with its handle on the right.
- Put the liquid ingredients, ice cubes or fruit into the blender jug. The jug has a maximum capacity of 1500 ml. To avoid possible foaming or spilling when processing foamable or thin liquids such as milk, do not fill the jug over the 1000 ml mark.
- Put the lid on and lock it by pushing it down until it is heard locking into place at the handle. To add ingredients during operation, the stopper in the food chute in the centre of the lid can be removed by turning it clockwise and then lifting it off. Do not put any objects into the blender jug while the appliance is operating.
- Insert the plug into the wall outlet and use the rotary control to select the 'Programme function' or the 'Manual speed selection'.

Programme selection
With the ‘Programme selection’, three different programmes can be selected. The main indicator lamp and the programme indicator lamps light up.
Pulse function
the appliance is switched on as long as the operating button is depressed; once the button is released, the appliance switches back to stand-by mode.
Ice crusher
Th is programme is used to crush ice cubes. Once the programme has finished the appliance goes back to stand-by mode. To interrupt the programme, press the programme button again; the appliance goes back to stand-by mode.
Smoothie
Th is programme is designed to prepare beverages containing puréed fruit. Once the programme has fi nished the appliance goes back to stand-by mode. To interrupt the programme, press the programme button again; the appliance goes back to stand-by mode.
Manual speed selection
With the ‘Manual speed selection’, the operating speed can be set manually. The main indicator lamp and the programme indicator lamp ‘Pulse’ light up. For a brief burst of maximum speed, you may push the ‘Pulse’ button.
After using the blender, switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket. Wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before removing the blender jug.
General Care and Cleaning
Always remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning the appliance.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the motor housing or the power cord with water and do not immerse them in water. The motor housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
- For cleaning after use, fill the blender jug with approximately 1000 ml warm water and a mild cleaning detergent. Let the appliance run for a short period as described in the section Operation. Then rinse the blender jug, lid and stopper with fresh water. All parts must me thoroughly dried aft erwards.
- The blade can be taken off for thorough cleaning. To remove the blade, turn the blender jug upside down and remove the blade mounting from the blender jug by turning clockwise. Caution: the blade is extremely sharp; there is a serious risk of injury. Remove the seal and clean the blade assembly and the seal with a suitable brush. replace the seal on the blade mounting During re-assembly, ensure that the seal is properly seated. Tighten
the blade mounting by turning it firmly anti-clockwise
Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.
Guarantee
Th is product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
