How do I select the correct coil diameter for my document?

Use the document measure card stored in the storage tray. Slide the card between the pages to determine the required coil size. Also refer to the coil diameter and document size table in the manual for guidance.

How do I adjust the edge guide?

Turn the rotary edge guide to align the paper edge. Test punch scrap sheets and adjust until the hole pattern is centered and correctly positioned.

What should I do if the machine won't punch?

Check the waste tray: it may be full or not correctly fitted. Also check for blockages in the paper entry. If any debris is stuck, insert stiff cardboard and slide it sideways to release stray clippings into the waste tray.

How do I remove waste clippings?

The waste tray is located at the back of the machine. Remove it regularly for best results. Simply pull out the tray, empty it, and reinsert it firmly.

Can I add or remove sheets after binding?

Yes. First remove the old metal coil using pliers. Correct the document as needed, then rebind following the standard binding procedure.

What is the maximum thickness of covers I can punch?

For transparent covers: up to 2 sheets of 100-200 micron or 1 sheet up to 700 micron. For other standard covers: up to 2 sheets of 160-250 gsm or 1 sheet up to 800 gsm. Always punch plastic covers together with paper sheets to avoid overloading.

How do I set the back-stop margin?

Use the adjustable back-stop feature. Rotate the dial to select 2, 3, 4, or 5 mm margin. For small documents (2-50 sheets) use 2 mm; for larger documents (200-450 sheets) use 5 mm.

Why are my punched holes not parallel to the paper edge?

Debris may be stuck below the dies. Take stiff cardboard, slide it into the paper entry, and move it sideways to release any stray clippings into the waste tray. This should correct the alignment.

What should I do if the holes are damaged?

Damaged hole edges usually indicate overloading. Reduce the number of sheets being punched. Punch plastic covers together with paper sheets for best results.

Metal coil diameter sizes

To select the correct size metal coil for a document use the document measure card, stored in the storage tray.

SET UP

Ensure the machine is on a stable surface.

Check the waste tray is empty and correctly fitted.

BEFORE YOU BIND

Select the correct coil diameter to suit the document.

Test punch scrap sheets to check edge guide setting.

Adjustable back-stop margin feature. Set the guide to suit the back margin size required (2,3,4 or 5mm) Eg: 2mm suits small documents (2-50 sheets), 5mm suits the largest documents (200-450 sheets)

BINDING A DOCUMENT

Punch front and back covers first.

Punch sheets in small batches so as not to overload the machine or the user.

Switch the inserting roller on.

Collate the document. Load the coil on to the first 3 holes.

Hold the document in both hands, with the metal coil on the right side. Touch the metal coil against the inserting roller to bind the document.

Use the binding pliers to cut and fold the end of the metal coil. Clip off the excess coil.

Turn the document around.

Clip off the excess coil.

CORRECTING A BOUND DOCUMENT

Additional sheets may be included or removed at any time by first removing the old metal coil. Correct document as necessary, then rebind as described.

REMOVAL OF WASTE CLIPPINGS

The waste tray is located in the back of the machine. For best results empty the tray regularly.
