When the engine is running but the Texas ZT 5110TRWE mower won't move, the problem usually comes from the clutch cable that controls the self-propulsion of the rear wheels. This cable may be too tight (blocking the drive) or too loose (not enough tension to engage the transmission).

Step 1: Check and adjust the clutch cable

First, ensure that you fully activate the drive handle by pulling it towards you. If the handle does not move easily, the cable is too tight.
Locate the adjustment bolt for the transmission cable on the engine (see illustration A1-1 in the manual).
To loosen the cable (if it is too tight): turn the bolt clockwise.
To tighten the cable (if it is too loose): turn the bolt counterclockwise.
Make gradual adjustments (a quarter turn at a time) and test the movement after each adjustment.

Step 2: Check the wheel ratchets

If adjusting the cable does not resolve the issue, the rear wheel ratchets are likely worn. These small gear pieces that transmit power can wear out over time, especially if the cable has been too loose for a long time. In this case, they will need to be replaced by an authorized repairer.
