MODE D'EMPLOI HAND MIXER 48954 MORPHY RICHARDS
It is recommended to start at a low speed, then change to a higher speed as required.
Only use the turbo setting for short bursts of mixing.
- Short barots of mixing:
- Use turbo on speed 5:
- Pressing the turbo on speed 1-4 will give a slight increase in speed if required.
2 Switch off by returning the slider to 0.
3 To eject the beaters and dough hooks place the mixer on its base and press the top half of the release button on the front of the mixer with both hands B.
4 Gently remove the beater or dough hooks.
IMPORTANT: Do not operate the mixer continuously for more than 6 minutes (with beaters) or 2 minutes (with dough hooks). After using for these lengths of time, let it cool down for 10 minutes before using again.
- When working with liquids, use a low speed in order to avoid splashing onto the mixer and firmly hold the liquid container.
TOP TIPS
- When making dough, first mix the dry ingredients including oils, fats or butter with beater for approx 30 seconds on speed 5 until they form breadcrumbs. Change to dough hooks and gradually add water using speed 5. Change to speed 2 to knead the dough for approx. 1 minute.
Cleaning
- Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the appliance off and unplug from the mains.
- Remove and wash the beaters and dough hooks in warm soapy water and dry well.
- Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.
WARNING: Never immerse motor unit in water or other liquid.

1 The fault has been caused or is attributable to accidental use, misuse, negligent use or used contrary to the manufacturers recommendations or where the fault has been caused by power surges or
2 The appliance has been used on a voltage supply other than that stamped on the products.
3 Repairs have been
attempted by persons other than our service staff (or authorised dealer).
4 Where the appliance has been used for hire purposes or non domestic use.
5 Morphy Richards are not liable to carry out any type of servicing work, under the guarantee.
This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. This guarantee is offered as an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Getting the best from your new appliance...
Safety
Do not operate the mixer continuously for more than 6 minutes (with beaters) or 2 minutes (with dough hooks). After using for these lengths of time, allow to cool down for 10 minutes before using again.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The use of any electrical appliance requires the following basic common sense safety rules.
Primarily there is danger of injury or death and secondly the danger of damage to the appliance. These are indicated in the text by the following two conventions:

In addition we offer the following essential safety advice.
Location
- Remove all packaging and retain for future reference.
- Ensure the appliance is used on a firm, flat surface.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors or in a bathroom.
- Do not place the appliance on a highly polished wooden surface as damage may occur to the surface.
- Do not place the appliance on or near a hot surface such as a hot plate or radiant rings or near a naked flame.
Mains lead
- The mains lead should reach without straining from the socket.
- Do not let the mains lead hang over the edge of a worktop where a child could reach it.
- Do not let the lead run across an open space e.g. between a low socket and table, a cooker or toaster or other hot area which might damage the cable.
The power cord cannot be replaced. Contact Morphy Richards for advice.
Personal safety
- Avoid touching moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing as well as spatula and other utensils away from hand mixer
attachment blades during operation, to prevent personal injury and/or damage to the appliance.
WARNING: To protect against risk of electric shock NEVER immerse the appliance body in water or in any other liquid and always ensure the electrical connections are kept dry.
Children
Children do not understand the dangers associated with operating electrical appliances. Never allow children to use this appliance.
Other safety considerations
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Ring the helpline number for advice on examination and repair.
- Do not use accessories not recommended by the manufacturer as there is the danger of fire, electric shock or personal injury.
- Unplug from the outlet when not in use.
Product Specific Safety
WARNING: To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury do not immerse cord, plug or mixer in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from outlet before cleaning and attaching or detaching beaters and dough hooks.
- Do not let rotating attachments touch the mains cable.
- Do not clean the attachments under running water while they are in position.
Make sure the mixer is switched off before connecting to or disconnecting from the mains supply and when left unattended.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your house electricity supply which must be A.C. (Alternating Current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance, the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted.
Warning: The plug removed from the mains lead, if severed, must be destroyed as a plug with bared flexible cord is hazardous if engaged into a live socket outlet.
Should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require changing, a 3 amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted.
This appliance does not need to be earthed. It is a double insulated product.

WARNING: Make sure that the mixer is switched off and unplugged.
1 Choose beaters or dough hooks.
Use beaters for mixing, beating, whipping and creaming liquids and mixtures.
- Use dough hooks for kneading dough.
2 Insert the stem of the beater or dough hook into one of the sockets in the body.
The dough hook with the groove should go into the hole with the sleeve on the mixer A.
3 Push and turn the beater or dough hook until it locks into place.
4 Repeat for the other beater or hook.

1 Switch on by sliding the speed slider to one of the positions 1 (lowest speed) to 5 (highest speed).
