.0 ELECTRONIC THROTTLE VALVE (ETV) Developed to increase throttle control, the fully electronic throttle actuation system enables the ECU to control both the fuel and air supply delivered to the engine.



02 DRIVE BELT Measuring barely half the width of traditional Kevlar final-drive belts, the new Vulcan 1700 series Carbon-Fiber belt is also nearly 40 percent stronger. Resulting in a slimmer, more attractive design with greater durability.
.03 SDC-SPEED The new long stroke 1700cc V-Twin is a masterwork of engineering, featuring four valves per cylinder for efficient breathing, digital fuel injection and liquid-cooling for dependable performance, and a 6-speed overdrive transmission for open-road touring.

It's all yours on the new Vulcan® 1700 Voyager®, Kawasaki's first full-dress V-Twin touring machine. Its premium features make touring the most rewarding activity imaginable, beginning with a tremendously powerful long-stroke 1,700cc V-Twin engine boasting a fully electronic throttle actuation system and cruise control for effortless operation. Add a large frame-mounted fairing and windshield, separate lower vented shields, generous storage, an iPod and MP3 compatible audio system using accessory harness, and available K-ACT anti-lock brakes, and the world really is yours.

.02 PASSENGER SEATING Vulcan 1700 Voyagerpassengers ride in the lap of luxury with an economicallydesigned individual premium seat and backrest. The wraparoundbackrest design adds support to make the passenger'sexperience as fine as the rider's .
04 REAR SHOCKS The Voyager's dual air-assisted rear shocks provide control under a wide range of riding conditions, and can be quickly and easily adjusted to match changes in passenger or cargo weight.


03 INSTRUMENT PANEL Combining
classic '60s styling and ultramodern electronics, the Voyager's multifunction instrument array gives you all the information you need—and looks great doing it. Fuel range and average mpg highlight the electronic features.
.04 OPTIONAL ABS BRAKING SYSTEM
K-ACT, Kawasaki's unified braking system, applies front and rear brakes when you engage either the front lever or rear pedal. Available only on the 1700 Voyager ABS model.

Weekends can't come fast enough for the Vulcan® 1700 Nomad™
The all-new Vulcan 1700 Nomad features the most advanced and sophisticated long stroke liquid-cooled V-Twin engine in Kawasaki history, along with all the features you need for weekends out of town. Fully outfitted with a protective adjustable windshield, lower fork-leg wind deflectors, an ergonomic saddle and floorboards for the rider, a separate rear seat with back rest, hand grips and floorboards for the passenger, and large hardcase touring saddlebags to share. Be careful though—owning a Nomad may turn you into one.

SADDLEBAGS Holding an amazing 10 gallons of gear piece, the Nomad's standard top-opening hard saddlebags are fully weatherproof and feature sturdy locks for security and chrome guards for a classic look.
.02 CRUISE CONTROL Easy-to-use cruisecontrol works with the 1700 Nomad's fully electronicthrottle valve system (ETV) to set steady speedsbetween 35 and 85mph in third through sixth gears.
