On the CITIZEN SR-270N scientific calculator, in standard deviation mode (SD mode), the button combination RCL + B allows you to recall and display the population standard deviation value (Xσn) of the entered data.

This function recalls the statistical variable Xσn, which represents the population standard deviation calculated from the entered data. Unlike the previous response, RCL + B does not reset the data, but simply extracts it for display.

Procedure:

Make sure you are in SD mode: press [ MODE ] then [ 2 ]
Before starting a new series of calculations, clear the statistical memory with [ 2nd ] [ Scl ]
Enter your data with [ DT ] (for each value)
Once the data is entered, press [ RCL ] [ B ] to display the value of Xσn (population standard deviation)

Differences with Xσn-1: This calculator also offers [ RCL ] [ C ] which recalls Xσn-1, the sample standard deviation, calculated with the divisor (n-1) instead of n. The choice between Xσn and Xσn-1 depends on your statistical context.
