Frequently Asked Questions - DS-TDSB00-EKT Hikvision

How do I install the Hikvision DS-TDSB00-EKT motion detector?
Mount the detector on a stable wall or ceiling at a height of 2.2-2.5 m. Connect the wires (power, alarm output) according to the terminal labels. For PoE, connect an Ethernet cable. Ensure the detection area is free of obstructions.
What is the detection range and angle of the DS-TDSB00-EKT?
The detection range is up to 12 m with a horizontal angle of 90°. Actual range may vary depending on mounting height and environmental conditions.
How can I adjust the sensitivity of the motion detector?
Sensitivity can be adjusted via the onboard potentiometer (if available) or through the connected alarm system. Refer to the user manual for specific adjustment steps.
What causes false alarms and how to reduce them?
False alarms can be triggered by pets, moving objects, or temperature changes. To reduce false alarms, avoid pointing the detector at heat sources, windows, or air vents. Use pet-immune models if needed.
Is the DS-TDSB00-EKT compatible with my existing alarm system?
The detector provides a relay output (normally closed or normally open) that can interface with most alarm panels. Check your panel's input requirements for compatibility.
Does the detector support power over Ethernet (PoE)?
Yes, the DS-TDSB00-EKT supports PoE (IEEE 802.3af) for both power and data, simplifying wiring. You can also use a 12V DC power supply.
How do I clean and maintain the motion detector?
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the lens and housing. Avoid using water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Check the mounting and connections periodically.
What does the tamper switch do?
The tamper switch triggers an alarm if the detector cover is forcibly removed or if the device is detached from its mount, providing tamper protection.
Can I use the detector outdoors?
The DS-TDSB00-EKT is designed for indoor use only. Outdoor installation may cause false alarms or damage due to weather conditions.
Where can I download the user manual?
