(USE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FOR EACH FRONT DOOR LOCATION).

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Using a window crank removal tool, release the spring clip securing the window crank handle and remove. Remove (2) Phillips screws from the armrest. Unclip the triangular trim piece in the upper corner of the door panel. Pop out the cover cap from the upper-inside corner of the door panel and remove (1) screw exposed. Using a small screwdriver, unclip the door latch trim and remove. Unclip the perimeter of the door panel and remove the panel. (NOTE: The plastic along the seam of the panel is very thin, use extreme care when removing). Unclip the factory speaker (if present) and disconnect the wiring.

ALL MODELS (EXCEPT SIERRA 1999, SILVERADO 1999): To mount the assembly with clips, cut and remove mounting clips "A" and mounting tabs "C" from the Speaker Adaptor Plates. To mount the assembly with screws (heavier speakers), cut and remove mounting clips "A" only. (see Fig. A). SIERRA 1999, SILVERADO 1999: Cut and remove mounting clips "B" from the Speaker Adaptor Plates. (see Fig. B)

Mount the aftermarket speaker to the Speaker Adaptor Plate with the screws supplied with speaker.

A) Strip wire ends back ½" B) Twist ends together C) Solder D) Tape

Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adaptor and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit).

ALL MODELS (EXCEPT SIERRA 1999, SILVERADO 1999): To mount the assembly with clips, re-connect the battery terminal and test the speaker for proper operation. Mount the assembly to the door frame with (3) clips. (see Fig. A). To mount the assembly with screws, reconnect the battery terminal and test the speaker for proper operation. Drill holes in the door frame and mount the assembly with (3) screws. SIERRA 1999, SILVERADO 1999: Re-connect the battery terminal and test the speaker for proper operation. Mount the assembly to the door frame with (3) clips. (see Fig. B)
