Frequently Asked Questions - MS75E Maruyama

What type of fuel does the Maruyama MS75E require?
The MS75E uses a mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1. Use only high-quality oil designed for air-cooled engines.
How do I start the brush cutter?
First, press the primer bulb 5-7 times until fuel is visible. Set the choke lever to the closed position, pull the starter rope gently until you feel resistance, then give a firm pull. Once the engine fires, open the choke and allow it to warm up.
What is the proper maintenance schedule?
After every 10 hours of use, clean the air filter. Every 25 hours, sharpen or replace the cutting blade. Replace the spark plug annually or after 100 hours. Check and tighten all nuts and bolts regularly.
Can I use a metal blade instead of nylon line?
Yes, the MS75E is compatible with both nylon line heads and metal blades. Ensure you use the appropriate guard for the cutting attachment and follow the instructions for installation.
Why does the engine stall under load?
Common causes include a clogged air filter, old fuel, or a dirty carburetor. Start by cleaning the air filter and using fresh fuel. If the problem persists, check the carburetor settings or have it serviced.
What safety gear should I wear?
Always wear safety goggles or a face shield, hearing protection, gloves, long pants, and sturdy boots. A shoulder strap is recommended for proper weight distribution and control.
How do I replace the nylon line?
Remove the spool from the head, take out the old line, and insert a new line of the correct diameter (usually 2.4 mm). Wind it evenly in the direction indicated, leaving 15 cm exposed. Reassemble and thread the line through the eyelets.
What is the correct cutting technique?
Swing the brush cutter in a sweeping motion from right to left. Keep the cutting head parallel to the ground and work at a steady pace. Avoid forcing the tool; let the blade or line do the work.
How often should I change the spark plug?
Replace the spark plug every year or after 100 hours of operation. Use the recommended NGK BPMR7A or equivalent. Check the gap (0.6-0.7 mm) before installation.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Genuine Maruyama parts are available through authorized dealers and online retailers. Always use original parts to ensure proper fit and performance.

After pulling starting rope gently by two or three times, pull it hard to start the engine.

[Pulling method for starting rope]

  1. Grasp starting rope tight with right hand.
  2. Hold chemical tank with left hand.
  3. Pull starting rope slowly until resistance is felt.
  4. Pull starting rope straight from entrance of starter.
  5. Do not pull starting rope to the end.
  6. Don't release starting rope from pulled state, and let it return to its original state gradually.

CAUTION

If the engine does not start by repeated action, try pulling the rope after fully opening the choke.

※ If the engine still does not start, refer to page 23.

6 Return choke slowly.

Open

CAUTION

  • Frequent operation of choke when starting the engine causes too much fuel to be sucked in, making the engine difficult to start. In that case, start after making the choke fully open.
    • After starting the engine, accelerate bit by bit quickly by opening and closing the throttle lever several times.
  • This operation is to bleed air in the carburetor. When there is air present, there is the possibility of poor acceleration and engine stalling.
    • Supply fuel prior to use if possible. This will make starting next time easy.

CAUTION

  • When setting the pressure control valve handle to "spray", "weeding" with throttle fully open at the "high pressure" position of pressure control valve handle, engine revolutions increase as pressure decreases. When using this machine at the "spray", "weeding" position, use at a position little bit back from full open throttle.
  • No-load running shall not be carried out except for draining operation. Piston packing might be damaged.
