Frequently Asked Questions - NI-100 PANASONIC

How do I fill the water tank?
Open the water fill cover located at the top of the iron. Use a measuring cup to pour water into the tank, being careful not to exceed the maximum level indicated. Use distilled or tap water according to your water hardness.
What should I do if the iron is not producing steam?
Ensure the water tank is filled and the temperature dial is set to a steam setting (usually 2 dots or higher). Wait for the iron to heat up. If steam still doesn't appear, check if the anti-drip system is active or clean the steam vents.
Can I use the iron vertically for steaming hanging clothes?
Yes, the Panasonic NI-100 supports vertical steaming. Hold the iron upright, press the steam button, and move it over the fabric. Ensure the iron is fully heated before use.
How does the auto shut-off feature work?
The iron automatically turns off after 8 minutes of inactivity when in a horizontal position, or after 30 seconds if left on its side. This is a safety feature to prevent accidents.
What type of water is recommended?
To prolong the life of your iron, use distilled or demineralized water to reduce scale buildup. Avoid using water with additives like perfume or starch.
How do I clean the soleplate?
Unplug the iron and let it cool. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a mild cleaner specifically for irons. Do not use abrasive pads.
Why is the iron leaking water?
Leaking may occur if the temperature is too low for steam generation or if the tank is overfilled. Ensure the temperature is set correctly and do not exceed the max water level. The anti-drip system prevents leaks at low temperatures.
How do I use the self-cleaning function?
Fill the water tank, set the iron to the highest temperature, and wait for it to heat. Unplug the iron, hold it over a sink, and press the self-clean button. Steam and water will flush out impurities.
What fabric settings are available?
The temperature dial has markings for different fabrics: Nylon/Silk, Wool, Cotton, Linen. Always iron delicate fabrics at lower temperatures and test on an inconspicuous area.
Is the cord retractable?
The Panasonic NI-100 comes with a fixed cord of approximately 2 meters. It is not retractable, but it can be wrapped around the heel rest for storage.
