USER MANUAL GC883 BUFFALO
- Read the instructions before using the appliance.
- Clean Heat Shade thoroughly before and after each use following the cleaning instructions provided in this manual.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

This product should only be connected to the mains electricity supply by a qualified electrician. Hardwire the Heat Shade into a suitable power supply with correct voltage and sufficient power capacity. Refer to the product label (serial plate) on the warmer for voltage and wattage requirements.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- All power must be disconnected at power source before any service procedure is performed.
- This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as drapes and other furnishings, away from appliance.
- Extreme caution is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children and whenever the appliance is left unattended.
- Always disconnect appliance before cleaning, maintaining and adjusting it.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug if the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped / damaged. Return appliance to an authorised service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
- Do not use outdoors. This appliance is not intended for wet or moist locations. Never locate appliance where it may fall into water.
- Avoid the use of extension cords. Do not run cord under carpeting, runners, or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not create a trip hazard.
- This appliance has electrical parts. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, it's service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard

This unit only suitable for R40 or BR40 type incandescent lamps.
The lamp is excluded from the warranty.

PREPARATION
- Remove the Heat Shade assembly from the carton.
- Remove tape and protective packaging from all surfaces of unit.
- Make sure the installation site provides the proper installation clearances for the unit
INSTALLATION
- Drill a 7/16" (11mm) hole through mounting fixture.
- Pass wires from the shade through hole in fixture.
- Secure the shade to the fixture with nut.
- You may unscrew the threaded nuts to adjust the length to fit your requirements.
- The wires in this product are brown – live, blue – neutral and green/yellow for earth.

Caution; Hot Surface.
CLEANING
NOTE: Proper maintenance plays an important part in the life span and functioning of the shade.
- Disconnect the heat shade from the power source prior to cleaning and ensure the surface is cool.
- This unit can be cleaned with a damp sponge and mild soap. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry.
- Do not immerse in water or other liquid.

The heat lamp must not be cleaned by a water jet.
MAINTENANCE
HEAT BULB REPLACEMENT
NOTE: Each standard Heat Shade is suitable for a clear or infrared heat bulb rated at or below 250 watts.
- To replace a bulb, place the switch in the OFF position and allow the bulb and shade to cool completely.
- Bulbs have a threaded base, Unscrew the bulb counterclockwise from the unit and replace with a new bulb.
Disposal
EU regulations require product to be disposed of by specialist companies who remove or recycle all gasses, metal and plastic components.
Consult your local waste collection authority regarding disposal of your appliance. Local authorities are not obliged to dispose of commercial refrigeration equipment but may be able to offer advice on how to dispose of the equipment locally. Alternatively call the BUFFALO helpline for details of national disposal companies within the EU.
