Frequently Asked Questions - MAC-9000 Ravanson

How do I clean the MAC-9000 heater?
Always unplug the heater before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water. For the grill, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
What does the thermostat do?
The thermostat allows you to set your desired room temperature. Once the room reaches that temperature, the heater will automatically shut off. When the temperature drops, it will turn back on to maintain the setting.
Can I leave the heater unattended?
It is not recommended to leave the heater unattended for long periods. However, the heater is equipped with overheat protection and a tip-over switch for safety.
What should I do if the heater stops working?
First, check if the unit has overheated and triggered the safety shut-off. Unplug and let it cool down for 30 minutes. Also check the power cord and outlet. If the problem persists, contact Ravanson customer support.
How do I set the fan mode?
Turn the mode selector knob to choose between 'Fan Only' (no heat), 'Low Heat' (1000W), or 'High Heat' (2000W). The fan will run continuously while the heat cycles on/off based on thermostat.
Is the MAC-9000 suitable for bathroom use?
No, this heater is not designed for damp or wet locations. Use only in dry indoor areas.
How does the oscillation function work?
Press the oscillation button or switch to enable the heater to rotate left and right, distributing heat more evenly across the room.
What is the recommended room size for this heater?
The MAC-9000 is suitable for small to medium rooms up to 20-25 square meters (200-270 sq ft) with proper insulation.
Can I use an extension cord with the heater?
It is recommended to plug the heater directly into a wall outlet. If an extension cord is necessary, use a heavy-duty cord with a minimum rating of 13A and keep it fully uncoiled.
How do I store the heater when not in use?
Allow the heater to cool down completely. Clean it as per instructions. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust. Avoid placing heavy objects on top.

Attach the exhaust hose

The air conditioner requires being vented outside so that the exhaust air can escape the room which coming from the appliance contains waste heat and moisture.

Do not replace or extend exhaust hose which will result in decreased efficiency, even worse shut down the unit due to low backpressure.

Step 1: Extend the adjustable window kit the length of your window. Connect the exhaust hose to the window kit.

Protection function

Frost Protection Function:

In cooling, dehumidifying or economic power saving mode, if the temperature of the exhaust pipe is too low, the machine will automatically enter protection status; if the temperature of the exhaust pipe rises to a certain temperature, it can automatically revert to normal operation.

Overflow Protection Function:

When water in the water pan exceeds the warning level, the machine will automatically sound an alarm, and the "FULL" indicator light will flash. At this point, you need to move the drainage pipe connecting the machine or the water outlet to sewer or other drainage area to empty the water (details see Drainage Instructions at the end of this chapter). After the water is emptied, the machine will automatically return to the original state.

Automatic Defrosting (cooling models have this function): The machine has automatic defrosting function. Defrosting can be achieved through four - way valve reversing.

Protection Function of the Compressor

To increase the service life of the compressor, it has a 3-minute delay booting protection function after the compressor is turned off.

Drainage

Unscrew the drainage cover and unplug the water plug, the water will automatically flow into the water container.

Continuous drainage (Optional) (only applicable to dehumidifying mode), as shown in figure:

1) Unscrew the drainage cover, and unplug the water plug.

2) Set the drainage pipe into the water outlet.

3) Connect the drainage pipe to the bucket.

Ravanson MAC-9000 - Continuous drainage (Optional) (only applicable to dehumidifying mode), as shown in figure: - 1

natural_image Line drawing of an air conditioner unit with a cup and cooling fan (no text or symbols)

To avoid water spillage:

- As the negative pressure of condensate drain pan is large, tilt the drain hose downward toward the floor. It is appropriate that the degree of inclination should exceed 20 degrees.

- Straighten the hose to avoid a trap existing in the hose.

Cleaning the Air Filter (every two weeks)

Dust collects on the filter and restricts the airflow. The restricted airflow reduces the efficiency of the system and if it becomes blocked it can cause damage to the unit.

The air filter requires regular cleaning. The air filter is removable for easy cleaning. Do not operate the unit without an air filter, or the evaporator may be contaminated.

  1. Clean the machine with a soft wet cloth.

  2. Remove the filter mesh from the unit.

  3. Use a clean rag to absorb the surface dust on the filter mesh. If the filter is extremely dirty, use tap water to flush the filter. Fully dry the filter before putting it back into the air inlet fence. A clean filter will increase the machine's capacity.

Warning!!!

Do not touch the evaporator surface with bare-hand, or could cause injury of your fingers.

CLEANING UP OF REFRIGERANT

General Measures:

  1. Gas/vapor heavier than air. May accumulate in confined spaces, particularly at or below ground level.
  2. Eliminate every possible source of ignition.
  3. Use appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
  4. Evacuate unnecessary personnel, isolate, and ventilate area.
  5. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not breathe vapors or gas.
  6. Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
  7. Stop the source of the release, if safe to do so. Consider the use of water spray to

STORAGE

Long-Term Storage - If you will not be using the unit for an extended period of time (more than a few weeks) it is best to clean the unit and dry it out completely. Please store the unit per the following steps:

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Drain the remaining water from the unit.
  3. Clean the filter and let the filter dry completely in a shaded area.
  4. Collect the power cord at the water tank.
  5. Re-install the filter at its position.
  6. Preserving the machine in ventilating, dry, non-corrosive gas and safe place indoor.
  7. The unit must be kept in upright position when in storage

ATTENTION:

The evaporator inside the machine has to be dried out before the unit is packed to avoid component damage and molds. Unplug the unit and place it in a dry open area for days to dry it out. Another way to dry the unit is to set the humidity point more than 5% higher than the ambient humidity to force the fan to dry the evaporator for a couple of hours.

Refrigerant leakage contributes to climate change. Refrigerant with lower global warming potential (GWP) would contribute less to global warming than a refrigerant with higher GWP, if leaked to the atmosphere. This appliance contains a refrigerant fluid with a GWP equal to 3. This means that if 1 kg of this refrigerant fluid would be leaked to the atmosphere, the impact on global warming would be 3 times higher than 1 kg of CO2, over a period of 100 years. Never try to interfere with the refrigerant circuit yourself or disassemble the product yourself and always ask a professional.
