Description
HighRise is a microphone preamp that will boost low output mics by adding up to +30dB of clean gain. This will allow any dynamic mic or ribbon mic to be used with different types of mixers, preamps, and digital audio interfaces. Additionally the HighRise will improve the EIN (equivalent input noise) specification of the mic preamps you plug it into.
NOTE - HighRise requires phantom power to operate
With proper care and maintenance your HighRise will operate trouble-free for many years. Should your HighRise ever require servicing a Return Authorization (RA) number must be obtained before shipping your unit to Samson. Without this number the unit will not be accepted. Please email support@samsontech.com for an RA number prior to shipping your unit. If your direct box was purchased outside of the United States, contact your local distributor for warranty details and service information.

Callouts

- INPUT – XLR input connector for connecting dynamic mics or ribbon mics to mixers, low gain pre-amps or digital audio interfaces that have a gain range that is too small.
- OUTPUT – XLR output connector for passing the input signal through to your mixer, preamp, or digital audio interface.
- LOW CUT – When the switch is set to 120Hz, HighRise will cut frequencies beginning at 120Hz. This helps remove unwanted bass frequencies known to cause audio signals/recordings to sound muddy.
- BOOST – Change this 3 position switch to best suit your use case. HighRise adds 20dB of gain, 30dB of gain, or 20dB of gain with HF Lift (more treble).
- PWR LED – White LED indicates that the HighRise is operational, powered by mixer phantom power.
Setup
The HighRise can be quite useful on stage or in the studio for connecting low gain audio sources to mixers, preamps, or digital audio interfaces. By utilizing the HighRise, the signal's gain can be boosted cleanly thus increasing audio level without adding noise. The following diagram shows a typical hook-up using a dynamic microphone connected to a professional style multi-channel audio mixer.
