Frequently Asked Questions - Classic S533 Quartet

How do I mount the Quartet Classic S533 whiteboard?
Mounting instructions vary by frame type: Euro Aluminum, Aluminum, or Wood Finish. For all types, first attach the marker tray to the board frame using the accessory kit. Then determine board location, mark and drill holes for top hanging brackets (6" from outer edge, specific distance from top depending on frame). Insert wall anchors, attach brackets, hang board at a 15° angle, and lower flush to wall. For Aluminum and Wood Finish frames, also install L-brackets at top and bottom. Refer to the manual for exact measurements.
What tools are needed for installation?
You will need a 1/4" drill bit for drilling holes for wall anchors, a 1/8" drill bit for pilot holes in the frame (for L-brackets), a screwdriver (for expanding anchors and driving screws), a level, and a measuring tape. The mounting hardware including anchors, brackets, and screws is included.
How do I attach the marker tray?
Before mounting the board to the wall, refer to the instructions in the Accessory Kit to attach the marker tray to the bottom of the board frame. The tray clips onto the frame; ensure it is securely fastened before hanging the board.
What are the different frame options for the Classic S533?
The Classic S533 is available in three frame styles: Euro Aluminum Frame, Aluminum Frame, and Wood Finish Frame. Each has slightly different mounting instructions, particularly the distances for bracket placement. The mounting instructions in the manual cover all three.
Can I use the board as a bulletin board?
The Quartet Classic S533 is a dry-erase whiteboard, designed for use with dry-erase markers. It is not intended as a bulletin board for pins. However, if you need a magnetic surface, check the product specifications; this model may not be magnetic.
How do I clean the dry-erase surface?
Clean the board with a soft cloth or eraser. For stubborn marks, use a dry-erase board cleaner or a mild solution of water and isopropyl alcohol. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads that could damage the surface.
What if the board is not level after mounting?
Before finalizing installation, use a level to ensure the board is straight. If it is not level, you may need to adjust the wall anchors or reposition the hangers. Ensure the mounting brackets are installed at the same height on both sides. For L-bracket installations, pilot holes in the frame can be adjusted slightly.
Are there different mounting instructions for the wood finish frame?
Yes, the Wood Finish Frame has different distances: top hangers are 2-1/4" down from top of board (instead of 7/8" or 1-3/8"), and L-brackets are placed 2-1/2" up from bottom and 2" down from top. Always follow the specific section for your frame type in the manual.
How do I remove the plastic corner caps?
The corner caps are plastic pieces covering the screws at the corners. To remove them, gently pry them off with a flat-head screwdriver or your fingers. After installing screws through the corners into wall anchors, replace the caps by pressing them into place over the screws.
Can I reposition the board after installation?
It is possible but not recommended as it may damage the wall or the board. To reposition, you would need to remove the board, patch and re-drill holes for anchors. If drywall anchors are used, they may not hold if removed and reinserted. Plan the location carefully before mounting.
