Please read these instructions at your leisure and save them for future reference.

The PRINCESS TOASTER is ideal for making 2 to 4 pieces of toast quickly and simultaneously. The adjustable browning feature and eject feature make this a highly practical toaster. Plug this appliance only into an earthed outlet.

TIPS FOR USE

The PRINCESS TOASTER can be adjusted at the touch of a button, producing slightly browned toast through to dark brown. To achieve the degree of browning desired, you can experiment with the setting. The quality and condition of the bread is also a factor. Dry or stale bread toasts more quickly, fresh and frozen bread take a little longer.

Bread can be toasted as follows:

• Place bread in the toaster.
• Set the desired browning level,
• Push the large handle downwards,
• As soon as the desired level of browning has been reached, the eject mechanism ejects the sandwiches and you can remove them form the toaster.
• You can interrupt the toasting by pressing the red button (0).

The serving handle will only lock in place when the appliance is plugged in.

Do not use a knife, fork or other utensil to remove the bread from the toaster or to clean the toaster. If the bread becomes lodged in the toaster, unplug the appliance before attempting to remove it.

The chrome exterior that gives the toaster its classic look can also get quite hot as the metal is a good conductor of heat. Do not touch the outside of the toaster during use and keep well out of reach of children.

CLEANING

ALWAYS UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE BEFORE CLEANING.

Clean the toaster after each use. This prevents leftover food from becoming encrusted in the appliance. Let the PRINCESS TOASTER cool down after use. Pull the crumb tray out from beneath the appliance and remove any crumbs or leftover bread. Clean with exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or strong detergents.

NEVER IMMERSE THE TOASTER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.

• This toaster is only suitable for household use.
• Make sure the cord or extension cord is carefully positioned to avoid people tripping over it.
• If the toaster or cord is damaged, we advise you not to use the appliance and to take it to the retailer for repair. Damaged cords can only be replaced by our service department.
• Do not use this toaster outdoors.
• Ensure children do not use the toaster unsupervised.
• Plug this appliance only into an earthed outlet.
• Allow the toaster to cool down before putting it away.
• Do not place the toaster on a damp or hot surface.
• Do not place the toaster on or near flammable objects such as curtains, kitchen paper etc.
• Never cover the toaster while the appliance is in use.

U.K. WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colour markings identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.

The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

The wire which is coloured GREEN-YELLOW must be connected to the earth terminal which is marked with the letter E or ± or coloured green and yellow.

With this appliance, if a 13 amp plug is used a 13 amp fuse should be fitted. If any other type of plug is used a 15 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or at the distribution board.
