Frequently Asked Questions - RXBC5V Salus

How do I pair the RXBC5V with my thermostat?

Press the pairing button on the receiver for 3 seconds, then press the pairing button on the thermostat within 10 seconds. Successful pairing is indicated by a solid green LED on the receiver.

What does the flashing red LED mean?

A flashing red LED indicates low battery or loss of signal. Replace the batteries or check the distance from the thermostat.

Can I use the RXBC5V with third-party thermostats?

The RXBC5V is designed to work with Salus thermostats using the same protocol. Compatibility with other brands is not guaranteed.

How do I reset the receiver?

Remove the batteries, wait 10 seconds, reinsert them. The receiver will reset and enter pairing mode.

What is the maximum range?

The maximum range is 30 meters in an open field. Walls and obstacles may reduce the range.

How do I change the batteries?

Remove the front cover, insert two AAA 1.5V batteries observing polarity, then replace the cover. Use alkaline batteries for best performance.

Why is the receiver not responding?

Check that the batteries are correctly inserted, the thermostat is within range, and the thermostat is programmed correctly. Also verify that the receiver is in the correct mode.

Can the receiver be used for both heating and cooling?

Yes, the RXBC5V can control both heating and cooling systems, depending on the thermostat setting.

What does a solid green LED indicate?

A solid green LED means the receiver is powered on and in normal operation. It may also indicate a successful pairing.

How do I mount the receiver on the wall?

Use the provided screws and wall plugs to mount the receiver. Alternatively, use the adhesive pads for a temporary installation. Ensure it is mounted vertically and away from metal objects.

Installation

1. Connect the electrical plug.

Press the "SYNC" button for 3 seconds until LED starts flashing

1. Push fit boiler control into housing.
2. Power up the boiler and check the correct operation.

The RXBC5V is ready to be paired with your compatible SALUS device.

Note: Once paired please close the boiler control panel

Introduction

The RXBC5V boiler module 868MHz is a receiver with 5V DC to control ON/OFF of Boiler or other heat system via the RF signal transmitted from the thermostat.

Switch Position

1 The boiler receiver is off.
2 AUTO. RX will automatically receive the RF signal from your compatible SALUS device and controls relay output.
3 Manual mode - Manual Override (Note this mode will run your boiler continuously)

Installation

Note: When removing blanking plate also remove visible thermostat link plug do not remove any internal link.

1. Ensure boiler is isolated and switched off.
2. Pull down control panel cover.
3. Remove existing mechanical timer and unscrew from plate.
4. Reverse the procedure to install the RXBC5V.
