Frequently Asked Questions - PowerWash 3 Complete P86-P4-T VAX

How do I connect the pressure washer to the water supply?
Connect a garden hose to the water inlet on the machine. Ensure the hose has a standard 3/4 inch connector. Turn on the water supply fully before starting the motor.
Can I use hot water with this pressure washer?
No, the maximum inlet water temperature is 40 °C. Using hot water beyond this can damage the pump.
How do I use the detergent function?
Fill the built-in detergent tank with the appropriate cleaning solution. Select the low-pressure nozzle or adjust the pressure setting to low. The detergent will be automatically mixed with water.
What should I do if the pressure washer starts and stops intermittently?
Check if the water supply is adequate and the inlet filter is not clogged. Also, ensure the nozzle is not blocked. If the issue persists, the pressure switch may need adjustment.
How do I store the pressure washer in winter?
Drain all water from the pump, hose, and nozzles. Use a pump antifreeze or run a short amount of antifreeze through the system. Store in a frost-free area.
Can I replace the hose if it gets damaged?
Yes, the hose is replaceable. Order a compatible replacement hose from VAX or an authorized dealer. Do not use a longer hose than recommended.
What type of detergent should I use?
Use only detergents specifically designed for pressure washers, such as VAX cleaning solutions. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals as they may damage seals.
How often should I clean the inlet filter?
Inspect and clean the inlet filter every 5 uses or if you notice a decrease in water flow. Remove the filter and rinse under clean water.
The power cord is short, can I use an extension cord?
Yes, but use a heavy-duty extension cord rated for outdoor use, with a cross-section of at least 1.5 mm² and length not exceeding 15 m to avoid voltage drop.
What does the trigger lock do?
The trigger lock secures the spray gun in the off position to prevent accidental spraying. Always engage the lock when not using the washer.
