Frequently Asked Questions - AMD04 Mercury

How do I connect the Mercury AMD04 receiver to my TV?
Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on the receiver to an HDMI IN port on your TV. Alternatively, you can use the included AV cables if your TV does not have HDMI.
How do I set up the receiver for the first time?
Connect the receiver to your TV and power it on. Follow the on-screen setup wizard to configure language, network, and channel scan. Ensure your antenna or satellite dish is properly connected.
Why is my receiver not finding any channels?
Check that your antenna or satellite dish is correctly connected and positioned. Go to Settings > Channel Search and select the appropriate source (DVB-T/T2/C/S2). Perform a full scan.
Can I use the receiver without an internet connection?
Yes, you can watch live TV and play media from USB drives without internet. However, for streaming services and firmware updates, an internet connection via Wi-Fi or Ethernet is required.
How do I play media from a USB drive?
Insert a USB drive with compatible files (MP3, MP4, AVI, etc.) into the USB port. Press the SOURCE button on the remote and select Media Player. Navigate to your files and press OK to play.
How can I update the firmware?
Ensure the receiver is connected to the internet. Go to Settings > System Update > Check for Updates. If available, follow the prompts to download and install. Do not turn off the receiver during the update.
The remote control is not working. What should I do?
Replace the batteries (AAA) with new ones. Check if the IR sensor on the receiver is unobstructed. Point the remote directly at the receiver. If issues persist, try resetting the remote by removing batteries and pressing any button for 3 seconds.
How do I reset the receiver to factory settings?
Go to Settings > System Reset > Factory Default. Enter the default PIN (usually 0000 or 1234) and confirm. All personal settings and recordings will be lost.
Can I record TV programs?
Yes, if you connect a USB storage device (formatted as FAT32 or NTFS). Use the REC button on the remote to start recording the current channel. For scheduled recordings, use the EPG (Electronic Program Guide).
What should I do if the receiver overheats?
Ensure the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources. Do not cover the ventilation slots. If it becomes too hot, turn it off and let it cool down. Clean dust from vents regularly.

A range of Distribution amplifiers with built in 4G LTE filter, designed to improve the quality of audio and video by amplifying weak VHF/UHF signals and distributing them across a designated area. Suitable for both professional and domestic installations and fully compatible with Digital Terrestrial/Satellite/Cable TV and DAB/FM radio signals.

Features:

- Fully screened amplifier compatible with Digital Terrestrial/Satellite/Cable TV and DAB/FM radio signals

• Integrated LTE signal filter avoids interference and channel loss from 4G mobile signals

• Coaxial socket connection, F socket adaptors included to allow F-Type connection

• Built in low noise amplifier with wideband output

• Built in surge protection – LED lights when a power surge is detected

- Short circuit protection – LED illuminates when a short circuit is detected on an output

• Maximum output limiter prevents overload

• High gain output for additional distribution connection

- Separate inputs for VHF and UHF

• DC pass allows the control of satellite via Magic Eye remote extender (124.157)

Installation:

Before installation please ensure all devices to be connected to the amplifier are switched off and disconnected from the mains. The unit is designed to be connected via coaxial connectors, although f-type adaptors are also supplied for additional compatibility. On the back of the casing there are also two mounting holes which allow the unit to be fixed to the wall.

AV:Link distribution amplifiers are designed to amplify weak, poor quality signals and distribute them to different destinations. For installations that are close to a TV transmitter or any other form of radio transmitter or high-power source, you may experience blocking or a frozen picture. In this instance an attenuator is required for turning down the signal to suitable levels for TV viewing.

The above diagram shows AMD08 receiving TV signals from the Satellite receiver and FM/DAB aerial and distribute the signals to 4 individual hi-fi and 4 TV units. The AMD series amplifier is designed with DC pass function. All 4 TV's can also be set up with a "Magic eye" (remote extension unit) to allow remote control of the satellite receiver when the TV is not the same room. This can only be done when you connect the RF2 output to the UHF input of the amplifier. Note: only one satellite channel can be viewed at any time from the Satellite receiver.

It is also suitable for upgrading or replacing existing UHF/VHF signal distribution units, simply reconnect the existing connector from the previous unit to the AMD amplifier. Ensure the UHF aerial is connected to the UHF input of the amplifier and FM/DAB aerials are connected to the VHF input of the amplifier. For loft distribution installation please ensure the unit is kept away from moisture and water.
