Frequently Asked Questions - SC15830N SWAN

How do I assemble the vacuum cleaner?
First, remove the dust tank. Insert the handle into the vacuum body and secure with the screw. Replace the dust tank until it clicks. Connect the handle hose to the connector hose, then insert the handle into the other hose on the body. Finally, insert the 3-in-1 tool into the onboard storage.
How do I empty the dust tank?
Press the dust tank release button to remove the tank. Hold it over a rubbish bin and unclip the bottom lock to empty. Close the base, align the tank back onto the machine, and push until it clicks. For best performance, empty when debris reaches the MAX FILL line.
How often should I clean the filters?
Wipe the filter cover with a cloth over a bin regularly. Wash the foam filter with water every 3 months. Allow at least 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before reinstalling. Never operate without filters or with a damp filter.
What should I do if the vacuum cleaner stops working?
If the motor shuts off, it may have overheated due to a clog. Unplug the vacuum, clean the filters, and check the hoses and dust tank for blockages. Allow 3-4 hours for the unit to cool down before resuming use. Also check the plug fuse and circuit breaker.
Can I use the vacuum cleaner on stairs?
Yes, but position it as shown in the manual. Avoid letting the brush roll touch the edge of the stair carpet to prevent damage. Do not pull on the hose. Always keep the area well lit.
How do I clean the brush roll?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Place it upside down with the brush roll facing up. Remove the six screws on the brush cover with a Phillips screwdriver. Lift off the cover, remove the brush roll, and cut away any hair or string with scissors. Clean debris from the brush ends and motor pulley.
How do I replace the drive belt?
Switch off and unplug the vacuum. Remove the brush roll cover and brush roll. Take off the old belt from the motor shaft. Loop the new belt over the motor shaft and stretch the other end over the brush roll in the space between bristles. Replace the brush roll, turn it by hand to align the belt, then replace the cover and screws.
What accessories are included with the SC15830N?
The SC15830N comes with a 3-in-1 crevice tool and a 2 metre hose. The Turbo Pet Tool is available on models SC15832N and SC15834N.
Is the vacuum safe for pets?
The Turbo Pet Tool is designed for vacuuming pet hair from carpets and upholstery, but do not use it directly on animals. Always keep pets away from the vacuum when in use.
How do I dispose of the appliance?
Do not dispose of it with household waste. Follow local regulations for WEEE recycling. Visit www.recycle-more.co.uk or www.recyclenow.co.uk for UK recycling points, or www.weeeireland.ie for Ireland.
