Frequently Asked Questions - SCV300 G-TECHNOLOGY

How do I assemble the SCV300 vacuum?
Push the end of the handle into the neck of the steering module until it clicks. Then attach the steering module hook to the latch at the back of the main unit. Extend the handle by pressing the green button and pulling upward until you hear a 'click'.
How do I charge the battery?
Plug the charger into the mains and connect it to the battery. The battery can be charged on or off the vacuum unit. The 'G' on the battery pulsates green during charging and shows solid green when fully charged. For optimum performance, turn off the plug socket once fully charged.
How do I replace the dust bag?
Remove the battery first. Open the bag-chamber lid by lifting the latch. Remove the lid, unhook the bag end and disconnect the collar from the inlet. Dispose of the old bag and fit a new one by placing the collar over the inlet, then hook the hoop at the end of the bag over the edge of the chamber. Replace the lid and press down until it clicks.
What should I do if the brush-bar stops rotating or ejects?
The brush-bar automatically ejects if jammed. Turn off the unit, remove the battery, and clear any blockages. Then reset the eject system by pushing the button back into place. Ensure the brush-bar is correctly installed and latched.
How do I clean hair from the brush-bar?
Remove the battery. Rotate the latch to unlock and pull out the brush-bar. Use the hair removal tool's blade to cut the hair strands, then use the comb end to pull the hair away. Never operate without the brush-bar in place.
Why is suction reduced?
Common causes include: a full dust bag, blockages in the airway, a tangled brush-bar, or the lid not properly closed. Check and clean these areas. Replace the bag if full.
Can I use the vacuum on wet surfaces or pick up liquids?
No. This vacuum is designed for dry vacuum cleaning only. Do not use on wet surfaces or attempt to pick up liquids, as it may cause damage and safety hazards.
How do I use the vacuum in hand-held mode?
Remove the handle from the main unit by holding the unit down with your foot and pulling upward. The handle can also be detached with the steering module. Use the duster attachment for above-floor cleaning. Be aware of the rotating brush-bar when using hand-held mode on upholstery.
What does the amber 'G' on the battery mean?
If the 'G' shows amber for 5 seconds, it indicates a brush-bar jam or the unit has overheated. Turn off the product, remove the battery, clear any blockage, and let it cool down before use.
What is the warranty period and how do I register?
The product has a 2-year warranty against material or manufacturing faults. Register online at www.gtech.co.uk/warrantyregistration within 3 months of purchase if bought from a retailer. Proof of purchase is required for claims.
