How do I connect the EMB1200 subwoofer to my receiver?

Use an RCA cable from your receiver's subwoofer pre-out to the LFE input on the subwoofer. For stereo connections, connect left/right pre-outs to the L/R inputs.

What is the best placement for the subwoofer?

Place the subwoofer in a corner or along a wall for maximum bass. Avoid blocking the port. Experiment with positions to reduce standing waves.

How do I set the crossover frequency?

Set the crossover knob to match your main speakers' low-frequency limit (typically 80 Hz for THX). The subwoofer will play frequencies below that.

What does the phase switch do?

The phase switch (0/180°) adjusts the timing of the subwoofer's output relative to the main speakers. Use the setting that produces the strongest, most coherent bass at your listening position.

Why is there no sound from the subwoofer?

Check that the subwoofer is powered on, the volume is turned up, and the input cable is securely connected. Verify that the receiver's subwoofer output is enabled in the speaker setup menu.

The subwoofer hums when not playing. How to fix?

A ground loop may cause hum. Ensure all audio components share the same power outlet. Use a ground loop isolator on the RCA cable if needed.

Does the subwoofer have auto on/off?

Yes, the EMB1200 features an auto on/off mode. It powers on when it detects an audio signal and turns off after a few minutes of inactivity to save energy.

How do I clean the subwoofer?

Unplug the subwoofer. Wipe the cabinet with a dry, soft cloth. For the grille, use a vacuum with a brush attachment. Do not use liquids or abrasives.

What is the warranty coverage?

The James EMB1200 comes with a 2-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Proof of purchase is required.

Can I use the subwoofer with a computer?

Yes, if your computer has a subwoofer output or if you use a 3.5mm to RCA adapter, you can connect it to the subwoofer's LFE input.
