Frequently Asked Questions - Antibes EGLO

How do I install the Antibes ceiling fan?
Follow the instructions in the manual. Ensure the ceiling is sturdy, turn off power at the breaker, mount the bracket, connect wires (blue for light, black for fan, white neutral, green/ground), attach blades and light kit. Expert installation is recommended.
Can I use the fan without the light?
Yes, you can operate the fan separately using the remote. The light and fan can be controlled independently.
How do I reverse the blade direction for winter?
Use the remote control: press the reverse button (often indicated by a switch icon). The fan should run clockwise in winter to push warm air downward.
The remote is not working. What should I do?
Check batteries in the remote. Ensure dip switches inside the remote and receiver are set identically. If still not working, reset by turning off power for 10 seconds.
How do I clean the fan?
Turn off fan and let it stop. Use a soft dry cloth or duster. Do not use water, abrasive cleaners, or solvents. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen cloth with mild soap, then dry immediately.
What is the maximum slope for installation on a sloped ceiling?
The Antibes fan can be installed on slopes up to 15 degrees. For steeper slopes, a special angle mount adapter may be required (not included).
Why is my fan wobbling?
Ensure all blades are tightened properly and the mounting screws are secure. Use the included balancing kit if needed. Also check that the ceiling bracket is firmly attached.
How long is the warranty?
Eglo offers a 2-year limited warranty on the motor. Keep your purchase receipt. Covers manufacturing defects, not damage from improper installation or misuse.
Does the fan include a wall control?
No, the Antibes model comes with a remote control only. A wall control can be purchased separately if desired.
What light bulb type does the fan use?
The fan has an integrated LED light module (non-replaceable bulb). The color temperature is typically 3000K (warm white). If it fails, the entire module needs replacement.

  5. 12 V, Type A23 battery for the transmitter

Inserting the battery into the remote control

  1. Open the battery cover.
  2. Insert the battery and make sure that the + and - ends are in the correct position. Close the battery cover and press it down until it clicks into place.
  1. To set the code between the transmitter and receiver, learning mode must be activated.
  2. Switch the power supply ON, and within 30 seconds, press the FAN ON/OFF button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds. If successful, a long beep will be heard.

Note: Learning mode will not be activated if the power is on for more than 30 seconds.

Troubleshooting Remote Control

If the transmitter and receiver are not working, or not working properly, check:

• The battery is in the correct position and making good contact, and replace batteries if necessary.
• Is there any other radio frequency or remote-controlled devices nearby, devices using the same frequency can interfere with each device?
- Low voltage in the batteries can affect the operation and signal reception. The LED indicator light will flash when the battery is low, replace the battery immediately.

Note: If not using the fan and remote for extended periods, remove the battery from the transmitter.

WINTER CLOCKWISE Blade Rotation

DE Umkehrfunktion

For a cooling effect during summer, your fan should run in a counter clockwise direction, forcing the room air down and outwards creating a wind chill effect that makes you feel cooler.

Winter (Reverse)

During the winter, your fan should run in a clockwise direction at low speed. This will gently draw the warmer air down from the ceiling, balancing the rooms temperature, and allowing

you to lower your heating thermostat.

EN Cleaning and maintenance

All EGLO ceiling fans need be maintained regularly to ensure performance is maintained.

Your fans natural movement can cause screws to loosen. Every 6 months, check that ALL screws are securely tightened with a screwdriver.

All EGLO ventilation products should be cleaned regularly to insure against corrosion from salt, dust and moisture, both externally and internal (where allowed and possible).

For cleaning, a soft brush or lint-free cloth should be used to prevent scratching the finish. Surface smudges or an accumulation of dirt and dust can easily be removed by using a mild detergent and only a slightly dampened cloth.

Note: Do NOT use abrasive cleaning agents as they may damage the finish.

Please note that all ceiling fans are not the same, even fans of the same model, some may move more or less than others. Movement of a few centimetres is quite acceptable, and does not suggest the fan will fall if installed correctly.

All ceiling fan blades are weighed and grouped by weight. It is impossible to eliminate wobble altogether and should not be considered a fault. Ceiling fans tend to move during operation because they are not generally rigidly mounted.

To reduce the fan wobble:

  • Check that all screws which fix the mounting bracket and down rod are tightly secured.
  • Wobble may result from inconsistent blade level. Check this by measuring from the tip of the blade to the ceiling, and repeat on every blade.

If the measurements are different;

  1. Check that the blade screws are not overly tightened, or loose, causing the tip of the blade to be unlevelled.
  2. Out of shaped blades can unbalance the fan and cause wobble. Check by removing all blades and stacking on a flat level surface and ensure all blades are a uniform shape.
  3. Interchanging adjacent blades can redistribute the weight and result in smoother operation.
