How do I power the SW-XIOC-P?

The SW-XIOC-P can be powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) from a PoE switch or injector, or using an external 24 VDC power supply (0.5 A minimum). Connect to the power input or Ethernet port accordingly.

What is the maximum cable length for the Ethernet connection?

For reliable PoE and data transmission, use Cat5e or better cable with a maximum length of 100 meters (328 feet) from the switch to the device.

Can I mount the SW-XIOC-P in a rack?

Yes, the device can be mounted in a rack using the optional Crestron RMK-1U rack mount kit. Alternatively, it can be surface-mounted on a wall or desk using the provided brackets.

How do I connect the digital I/O and relay outputs?

The digital I/O ports accept dry contact or 0-5V digital signals. The relay outputs are Form C contacts rated for 30 VAC/VDC, 1 A. Use shielded twisted-pair wiring for best performance.

What software do I need to configure the SW-XIOC-P?

Use Crestron Toolbox software to discover, configure, and update the device firmware. Ensure you have the latest version from the Crestron website.

Is the SW-XIOC-P compatible with third-party control systems?

The device is designed for Crestron control systems. While it uses standard protocols like TCP/IP, integration with third-party systems may require custom programming and is not officially supported.

How do I reset the device to factory defaults?

Press and hold the Reset button (located near the power input) for 10 seconds using a paperclip. The device will reboot with factory settings. Note that this erases all configurations.

What do the LED indicators mean?

The Power LED glows green when powered. The Link/Activity LED shows Ethernet connectivity (solid green = link, blinking = activity). The Signal LED indicates I/O status (green = active).

Can I use the IR/Serial output for controlling a projector?

Yes, the IR/Serial port can output infrared (with an emitter) or RS-232 serial commands. Configure the signal type in Crestron Toolbox. Use a 3.5mm mono plug for IR or a 3.5mm stereo for serial.

The device is not powering on. What should I check?

First, ensure the Ethernet cable is connected to a PoE-enabled port or that the 24 VDC power supply is plugged in. Check the Power LED; if off, try a different PoE port or power source. If still not working, the device may be faulty.
