How do I change the battery in my IMPACT Pro L?

Open the battery compartment, remove the old battery, peel the sticker off a new size 312 zinc-air battery, place it with the '+' symbol facing up, and close the compartment. You will hear a beep when the device turns on.

How do I turn my hearing aid on and off?

To turn on, close the battery compartment fully. To turn off, press open the compartment to the first stop. Alternatively, if programmed, press and hold the program button for 3 seconds to toggle power.

How do I select different hearing programs?

Press the program button repeatedly. Each press advances to the next program, confirmed by a series of beeps (the number of beeps indicates the program number). Up to 5 programs can be configured by your audiologist.

What does the low battery indicator sound like?

You will hear intermittent beeps and may notice reduced amplification or volume. Replace the battery promptly when this occurs.

How do I clean and maintain my IMPACT Pro L?

Regularly check the LifeTip and LifeTube for cracks or blockages. Clean the LifeTip with a soft cloth. Avoid exposure to moisture, heat, and hairspray. Remove the battery when not in use for extended periods.

What should I do if the LifeTip gets stuck in my ear?

If the LifeTip remains in the ear, do not attempt to remove it yourself. Seek medical assistance from a healthcare professional to safely remove it.

Can I use my IMPACT Pro L with wireless accessories like a TV or phone?

Yes, your hearing aid is compatible with the miniTek or Tek wireless systems (sold separately). These allow streaming from TV, phone, MP3 player, and provide remote control functionality.

How does the e2e wireless feature work?

e2e wireless (ear-to-ear) synchronizes both hearing aids when worn as a pair. Changing volume or program on one automatically adjusts the other, providing a balanced listening experience.

Is there a child safety feature for the battery?

Yes, the battery compartment includes a locking mechanism. To lock, use a pointed tool to push the pin to the right; to unlock, push it to the left. This prevents children from removing the battery.

What should I do if my hearing aid stops working?

Check that the device is switched on, the battery is inserted correctly and not depleted, the battery compartment is fully closed, and the LifeTip sound opening is not clogged with wax. If problems persist, consult your NHS Audiologist.

CAUTION

Risk of injury may be caused by incorrect use of LifeTip.

Always wear the LifeTube with the LifeTip
Make sure that the LifeTip is completely attached to the LifeTip adapter

Put the LifeTube with the LifeTip carefully and not too deep into the ear
Use the LifeTube and LifeTip only the way described in this patient leaflet
If the LifeTip remains in the ear, have it removed by a medical professional

Changing the batteries

1. Open the battery compartment

1. Remove coloured sticker from new battery, place battery

in drawer with + symbol on battery + side up. (You should only remove the protective sticker if you actually use the battery)

Low Battery indicator

Your hearing instrument may be programmed to inform you when the battery should be replaced for best system performance. You may hear an intermittent series of beeps and/or experience low amplification power or volume. Change the battery when either of these occur.

Switching the instrument on/off

On:

Close the battery compartment fully to switch on.

Selecting the hearing program

The IMPACT Pro L can be programme with up to 5 hearing programs which are selected with a program button. Each time the button is pressed the instrument changes to the next program, which is confirmed with beep tones. The number of beep tones is the same as the selected program.

On/Off using the program button

Your IMPACT Pro L hearing instrument can also be programmed by your NHS Audiologist to be turned on and off using the program button.

To turn your hearing instrument off, press and hold the program button for approximately 3 seconds. To turn your hearing instrument on again, press an hold the program button for approximately 3 seconds. Please note that when you turn your hearing instrument off using the program button, you must wait approximately seconds for the instrument to reset before turning it back on using the program button.

Power-on delay

Your hearing instrument may be equipped with a "power-on delay" feature.

This feature delays sound from enterir your hearing instrument when it is fin turned on, so that you may insert th hearing instrument into your ear without experiencing unpleasant feedback (whistling).

e2e wireless™ for IMPACT Pro e2e systems

The following section applies to binaural fittings only.

Your IMPACT Pro L hearing instrument includes e2e (ear-to-ear) wireless technology. The wireless functionality:

Automatically adjusts both hearing instruments simultaneously to adapt to different listening situations
Provides synchronisation of the hearing instrument settings. If you change the volume or program on one instrument, the other is automatically changed

Your NHS Audiologist can activate the wireless functionality of your hearing instrument.

NOTICE

The performance of the e2e wireless system could be affected by electro-magnetic interference, such as computer monitors or halogen lamp systems controlled by a switching power supply. Move away from the source of interference if you experience difficulty.

In some countries restrictions for the usage of wireless equipment exist.

Children's safety device for the battery

This special feature prevents children from unintentionally removing the battery.

Open the battery compartment to the first stop to switch off, do not open the battery door fully.

Using a pointed tool, push the pin to the right to lock the battery door and to the left to unlock.

miniTek and Tek wireless enhancement

Your IMPACT Pro L hearing instrument can be used with the miniTek and Tek wireless enhancement system. Both devices provide a wireless connection from your IMPACT Pro L hearing instruments to your television, mobile phone, MP3 player and stereo. miniTek and Tek are also easy-to-use remote controls for your IMPACT Pro L hearing instruments for convenient and discreet program and volume adjustment. The miniTek and Tek packages comprises the miniTek or Tek Connect itself which controls the hearing instruments, a Tek transmitter and all cables necessary to link the miniTek/Tek into a variety of devices such as TVs, MP3 players, etc.

miniTek and Tek are additional products to your hearing instrument; Tek is available to purchase at £300. miniTek is available to purchase at £400. General notes on safety
