Frequently Asked Questions - Salara M Draper

How do I install the Draper Salara M projection screen?
Attach the mounting brackets to the wall or ceiling ensuring they are level. Then snap the extrusions on the back of the screen case onto the brackets, pivoting the case until the lower edge snaps into place with the spring-loaded latch.
What is the difference between Standard and AutoReturn operation?
In Standard mode, to raise the screen you pull down and slowly allow it to retract. In AutoReturn, to raise you pull down gently until it stops, then release; the screen retracts automatically.
How should I clean the viewing surface?
For Matt White and High Contrast Grey surfaces, use a mild dishwashing liquid diluted with warm water, sponge, rinse, and blot dry. For Glass Beaded surfaces, only use a soft brush or cloth to dust; do not use soap, water, solvents, or abrasives.
What safety precautions should I follow?
When raising the screen, pull down and allow slow retraction into the case to reduce risk of injury from falling screen. Ensure the screen is mounted securely and level.
Can the screen be mounted on any wall or ceiling?
The mounting surface must be reinforced sufficiently to support the screen. Use appropriate fasteners (e.g., toggle bolts, molly bolts, anchors) for the surface type.
What are the dimensions of the screen?
The manual provides various measurements for the case and viewing surface, but exact dimensions depend on the model size selected. Refer to the dimension diagram in the manual for your specific unit.
What does the warranty cover?
The manual does not specify warranty details. Contact Draper or your dealer for warranty information. Typically, Draper screens come with a limited lifetime warranty.
How do I lower and lock the screen?
Pull the screen down to the desired position. Hesitate for a moment, then allow the screen to retract very slowly until it locks in place.
What should I do if I encounter installation difficulties?
Call your dealer or Draper Inc. at (765) 987-7999 or fax (765) 987-7142 for assistance.
Is the screen suitable for outdoor use?
The manual does not mention outdoor use. The screen is designed for indoor projection environments. Using it outdoors may void the warranty and damage the surface.

Wall/Ceiling Flush Mounting

① Attach Mounting Brackets to wall or ceiling (see Fig. 1). The installer should furnish screws, toggle bolts, molly bolts, nylon or lead anchors as required by the mounting surface. Installer also needs to ensure the mounting surface is reinforced sufficiently to support the screen. Brackets must be level with each other.

② Attach the screen by snapping the extrusions on the back of the case onto the brackets. With the lower edge of the screen case tilted away from the wall, engage the rib on top of the case with the slot on each bracket. Slide the screen case along the brackets to adjust the screen location from left to right if necessary (see Fig. 2).
