Is the NF-A6X25 FLX compatible with my CPU cooler?

This fan is a standard 60mm size, commonly used as a replacement for small CPU coolers, NAS, or ITX builds. It fits any cooler or case with 60mm fan mounting holes (screw spacing 50mm). Check your cooler's specifications.

What is the difference between FLX, PWM, and ULN versions?

FLX (Flexible) comes with a Low-Noise Adapter (LNA) to reduce speed and noise. PWM has 4-pin for automatic speed control, and ULN is an ultra-low noise version with fixed lower speed. FLX is ideal if you want manual speed selection.

Can I use this fan on a heatsink without included clips?

Yes, provided the heatsink has standard 60mm fan mounting holes. The included fan clips are designed for Noctua's own coolers; for other coolers, you may need to use the screws directly.

How do I install the Low-Noise Adapter?

Connect the LNA inline between the fan connector and the motherboard/device. The LNA reduces voltage, lowering speed and noise. Ensure the fan still runs properly; if not, remove the LNA.

What is the maximum noise level?

The NF-A6X25 FLX has a maximum noise level of 24.6 dB(A) at full speed (3500 RPM). With the LNA, it drops to 16.3 dB(A) at 2500 RPM, making it very quiet.

How do I clean this fan?

Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust. Do not use water or cleaning liquids, as they may damage the bearing. Clean the fan blades and frame carefully.

Is this fan suitable for water cooling radiators?

It can be used on small 60mm radiators, but performance may be limited due to the small size. It is more commonly used on air coolers or as a case fan.

What is the expected lifespan of the fan?

Noctua's SSO2 bearing is rated for over 150,000 hours of operation at 25°C. Actual lifespan depends on environmental conditions. The fan is covered by a 6-year warranty.

Can I control the speed with a fan controller?

Yes, since it has a 3-pin connector, it can be controlled by voltage regulation (e.g., fan controller or motherboard with voltage control). PWM control is not supported.

What are the mounting hole distances?

The standard 60mm fan has a screw hole pattern of 50mm x 50mm (center to center). The included screws are M3 type.

Installation

When installing the NF-A6x25 on a heatsink, radiator or other devices that use a custom mechanism for fan installation (fan clips, proprietary screws, etc.) please use this mechanism for installation.

When installing the NF-A6x25 as a case fan, you can either use proprietary clip systems (if your case features a clip system for fan installation) or the supplied mounting screws and silicone anti-vibration mounts. In order to install the fan using the silicone mounts, please first pull the silicone mounts through the mounting holes of the case. Then put the fan onto the silicone mounts and pull them through the mounting holes of the fan:

Connection

The NF-A6x25 features a standard 3-pin fan connector. Please note that the fan can also be connected to 4-pin mainboard fan headers though. If you would like to connect the fan directly to your power supply, please use the supplied a 3:4-pin adaptor (NA-AC1).

The NF-A6x25 features a short 20cm primary cable in order to help you minimise cable clutter in typical applications. If you need a longer cable, please add the supplied 30cm extension (NA-EC2).

The NF-A6x25 comes with Low-Noise (NA-RC10) and Ultra-Noise Adaptors (NA-RC12) that allow you reduce the fan speed from 3000 to 2400rpm (NA-RC10) and 1600rpm (NA-RC12) in order to achieve even quieter operation.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Fans inside computer cases tend to accumulate dust over longer periods of usage. In order to maintain maximum performance, please clean your fans regularly using a duster, slightly moist tissue or canned air. Please be careful not to use too much force in order to prevent any damage to the fan. Please don't use a vacuum cleaner as this may apply excessive force to the fan.

In order to ensure flawless operation over many years of usage, the NF-A6x25's premium grade SS02 bearing is fully sealed to prevent the entering of fine dust particles. Please note that the fan is not designed to be taken apart by the user. Removing the impeller from the frame will break the sealing of the bearing and results in a loss of warranty.

Even with high-grade products and strict quality control, the possibility of defects cannot be eliminated entirely. Therefore, we aim at providing the highest possible level of reliability and convenience by offering a warranty period of 6 years and direct, fast and straightforward RMA service.
