Frequently Asked Questions - M4U 8 PSB

How do I pair the M4U 8 headphones via Bluetooth?
Ensure the headphones are in a powered mode (ANC or Active). On your source device, turn on Bluetooth and select 'M4U 8' from the device list. The LED will flash red/blue during pairing, then turn solid blue when connected. If pairing fails, the LED stays red.
Can I use the headphones while charging?
Yes, you can listen via the USB cable in audio mode while the headphones charge. However, wireless Bluetooth playback is not possible while charging.
How do I enable the transparency mode?
Press the 'VOL' button (the volume control knob). This reduces your audio by 30 dB and amplifies ambient sounds through the microphones. This function works only in powered (ANC or Active) modes.
What is the battery life and how do I know when it's low?
Average battery life is 15 hours. When about 1.5 hours remain, the power LED flashes in the current mode color, and the headphones beep every 15 minutes.
How do I clean the ear cushions?
Remove the cushions by gently pulling them off the ear cups. Hand wash with cold water and a small amount of mild soap. Rinse thoroughly, press out excess water with a towel, and air-dry completely before reattaching.
Can I replace the battery myself?
Yes. Detach the battery compartment cover on the left ear cup (use the pull tabs). Replace the internal rechargeable battery with two AAA alkaline batteries (IEC LR03). Ensure proper disposal of used batteries.
How do I connect to an in-flight entertainment system?
Use the supplied dual 3.5 mm airline adapter with the standard analog audio cable. Plug into the airline's dual output jacks. Note that audio quality may vary.
The headphones won't turn on. What should I do?
First, ensure the 3-position power switch is set to either ANC (green) or Active (blue). If still no power, charge the headphones via USB for at least 4 hours. If the battery is completely dead, replace with two AAA alkaline batteries (see manual). If issues persist, contact PSB support.
Can I use the headphones with a microphone for calls?
Yes, the headphones have a built-in microphone for phone calls. Press the phone button to answer/end calls. The microphone is only active in Bluetooth mode.
What is the difference between the three power modes?
Active mode (blue LED) uses the internal amplifier without noise cancelling. ANC mode (green LED) enables active noise cancelling. Passive mode (off) turns off both amplifier and noise cancelling, relying on passive sound isolation; Bluetooth is disabled in this mode.

PROTECTING YOUR INVESTMENT....

For long lasting enjoyment of your headphones, you should respect their limits and avoid excessive volume levels for music or movie playback. Excessive volume levels can damage all headphones.

If your headphones are pushed to excessive volume levels, they could be driven into "clipping". This could result in severe or permanent injury. When using your headphones at loud levels, listen carefully for any sign of harsh, garbled midrange and diminishing intelligibility. If detected, turn the volume down immediately.

At the end of its useful life, this product should not be disposed of with regular household waste. It should be returned to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

The materials can be reused in accordance with their markings.
