Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Electrical safety - 1

WARNING

Risk of electric shock!

Touching live parts may result in severe injury or death.

■ Only use the appliance indoors. Do not use in wet rooms or in the rain.
■ Connect the appliance only if the mains voltage at the socket corresponds to that indicated on the nameplate.

■ Do not operate or continue to operate the appliance if

  • it shows visible signs of damage, for example, the connection cable is defective;
  • starts smoking or there is a burning smell;
    – it makes unusual sounds.

In such events, remove the mains plug from the socket and contact our service department.

■ The appliance corresponds to protection class I and may only be connected to a plug with a protective conductor that has been installed properly. Ensure that the voltage is correct when connecting it. You can find more detailed information about this on the nameplate.

If the mains plug is no longer accessible after installation or set-up, an all-pole disconnecting device complying with overvoltage category III must be connected to the house wiring with a contact gap of at least 3 mm; consult a qualified professional if necessary (see the chapter on "Service").
■ Mains cable / mains plug:

– Lay out the supply cord in such a way that it does not become a trip hazard.

Safety when handling heat-generating appliances

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Safety when handling heat-generating appliances - 1

CAUTION

Risk of burns!

The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use.

■ Please avoid touching the heating elements.
■ Children aged 8 years or younger must be kept away from the appliance, unless they are under constant supervision.
■ Do not touch hot parts. Always protect hands with oven gloves or pot holders when working on the hot appliance. Only use dry oven gloves or potholders. Wet textiles are better heat conductors and can cause steam burns.

Fire hazard!

Improper handling when operating the appliance can lead to fire.

■ Do not connect to a multi-socket extension cable or a multi-socket plug.
■ If you are preparing food with alcohol, do not leave the cooker unattended! The food may spontaneously ignite.
■ Do not cover the appliance with blankets, cloths or similar, as these objects may become hot and catch fire.
In the event of a fire, immediately turn all dials/switches buttons/sensors to "off" or "0" and switch off the automatic circuit breakers and/or unscrew the fuses. To extinguish the fire, use a suitable fire extinguisher with the designation "F" or a fire blanket.

■ Once the fire has been extinguished, have the appliance checked by our Service department.

Protecting food

Health hazard!

Improper use of this appliance can lead to damage to health.

■ Clean the appliance regularly and remove any traces of food leftovers immediately.
■ Particularly with poultry and dishes containing fresh egg, and when warming up meals, ensure that the food is fully cooked through to kill off all pathogens (e.g. salmonella).

Acrylamide may be carcinogenic. Acrylamide is produced when starch is exposed to excessive heat, e.g. in potatoes (French fries, crisps/chips), biscuits, toast, bread, etc.

  • Keep cooking times as short as possible.
    ■ Only brown the food slightly, do not allow it to brown too much.
    ■ Cut larger-sized fries and then bake at maximum of 180 °C.
    ■ When frying potatoes using raw potato discs or frying potato fritters in a frying pan, it is better to use margarine (with a minimum fat content of 80 %) or oil with a little margarine instead of pure oil.
    ■ Brushing baked goods with egg whites or egg yolks helps to reduce the formation of acrylamide.

Using the oven safely

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Using the oven safely - 1

WARNING

Risk of electric shock!

Before replacing the light, ensure that the oven is switched off to prevent the possible risk of electric shock.

■ First switch off the oven then unscrew and/or switch off the fuses.
■ Replace the light only when the oven is no longer hot.

NOTICE

Risk of damage!

Improper use may damage the oven or cooking utensils.

  • Do not place trays or aluminium foil directly on the base of the cooking compartment. It may cause heat to build up inside and damage the oven's enamel. If you wish to place dishes directly on the bottom of the cooking compartment, the oven temperature must not exceed 50 °C. Be careful when handling cookware – the enamel can be easily scratched.
    ■ When preserving, place only so many preserving jars in the dripping pan that none of them touch. Otherwise, the jars can crack and burst.
If a trolley is used to move the oven, it must be lifted as shown on the packaging.
    ■ Do not lift the entire oven by the oven door handle. The handle is not designed to carry the whole weight of the oven.
    ■ The cooking compartment door is heavy and has a glass front. Do not drop the door when taking it off its hinges.
    ■ Take particular care to ensure that the door seals are clean. If the seal is very dirty, the appliance door will no longer close properly. Neighbouring furniture fronts may be damaged.
  • The door seals are sensitive to oil and grease – making the rubber porous and brittle.
    ■ Do not remove the door seals.

■ Do not use any harsh, abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the glass on the cooking compartment door, as they can scratch the surface and destroy the glass.
■ When cleaning the cooking compartment, do not use steel wool, oven sprays, steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaners. They can damage the surface. High-pressure cleaners can cause a short circuit.
■ Do not clean baking tray guides and telescopic rails in the dishwasher.

Overview of all functions

SymbolDescription of function
^1 Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 1Top/bottom heat. In top/bottom heat mode, your oven operates with a high temperature if needed – depending on the shelf height, the heat is stronger from the bottom or the top. It is particularly suitable for gratinéed dishes, bakes and pizza.Baking and roasting is, however, only possible on one shelf level. You will achieve the best results by roasting the food on one of the middle shelf levels.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 2Bottom heat. On the bottom of the cooking compartment there is a heating element that supplies additional heat from below. This cooking function is particularly suitable for dishes that require a long cooking time, or for ones that are supposed to have a crispy bottom, e.g. pizza.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 3Convection with top and bottom heat. The heat is produced by top/bottom heat and is distributed evenly by the fan. This saves energy. Food items are gently browned on the outside, but remain juicy inside.Convection is ideal for short-roasted dishes such as chicken pieces, chops or fish and to grill sandwiches or similar with more than 6 portions.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 4Hot air. Additional heat is produced by a ring heater around the fan. This also improves the air circulation in the cooking compartment and distributes heat more evenly.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 5For simple grilling, only the inner grill elements are in operation. You will achieve the best results by using the upper shelf levels for smaller items and the lower levels for larger ones.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 6Intensive grilling means that both grill elements as well as the upper heating element of the oven are in operation.
^1 [T3C3]ECO For energy-efficient baking. When ECO mode is activated, the heating element is electronically controlled to make better use of residual heat and therefore reduce energy consumption. Using ECO mode will slightly extend the cooking time.ECO mode is especially suited for cooking meat: cooking using this mode will result in juicier meat.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 7Grilling with the fan does not have such an intense effect as surface grilling. However, you can grill larger pieces of meat and fish. The food being grilled does not need to be turned.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 8Defrosting. When defrosting, only room-temperature air is distributed by the fan. This accelerates the defrosting process and is a gentle way of defrosting already-prepared dishes. No heat is applied during defrosting.
Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Overview of all functions - 9Cooking compartment light. This setting turns on the cooking compartment light, regardless of whether the oven is in operation.

*) This type of heating is used to determine the level of energy consumption in conventional mode.
**) This type of heating is used to determine the level of energy consumption in convection mode and to determine the energy efficiency class.

Operation

Before you begin

  • Install and connect the appliance as described in chapter "Installation and connection" from page EN-30.
  • Cleane the appliance thoroughly as described on page EN-34.

The right oven cookware

  • Pots with heat-resistant handles can be recognised by the label indicating "heat resistant up to 280 °C".
    – Fire-proof dishes made of glass, porcelain, ceramic and clay or cast iron.
  • In particular, ovens with top and bottom heat require dishes and trays with good heat transfer, preferably ones made of metals which have been painted black as they allow cakes to brown nicely.
    – Good results can also be achieved with coated or non-coated aluminium trays.

Proper handling of the oven

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Proper handling of the oven - 1

CAUTION

Risk of burns!

The oven and cooking compartment door become very hot when in operation. Be careful not to touch the heating elements inside the oven. Children aged 8 years or younger must be kept away from the appliance, unless they are under constant supervision.

■ Do not touch the oven and the cooking compartment door when it is in operation. Risk of burning!
■ Only hold the cooking compartment door by its handle.
■ Do not leave the oven unattended when in operation.

- Keep children away from the hot oven.

Fire hazard!

■ Only ever operate the oven with the cooking compartment door closed.
■ If the external cooling fan/extractor is defective, switch off the oven and do not use it. Open the cooking compartment door and call our Service department.
■ In case of an oven fire
- Switch off the circuit breakers/unscrew fuses
- do not open the cooking compartment door until the fire has been extinguished.
■ Never extinguish burning oil or fat with water! To extinguish the fi re, use a suitable fi re extinguisher with the designation "F" or a fi re blanket.
■ Once the fire has been extinguished, have the appliance checked by our Service department.

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Fire hazard! - 1

NOTICE

Pent-up heat can damage the oven's enamel.

■ Do not place baking trays or aluminium foil directly on the bottom of the cooking compartment.
If you wish to place dishes directly on the bottom of the cooking compartment, the oven temperature must not exceed 50 °C. Be careful when handling cookware – the enamel can be easily scratched.

If the external cooling fan or the internal fan is broken, the appliance can quickly overheat, which can cause significant damage to the appliance and set fire to any other nearby flammable objects.

■ Immediately switch off the appliance, open the cooking compartment door and stop using the cooker!
■ Contact our Service department.

The external cooling fan cools down the steam and vapour that exit the oven through the extraction hood and prevents adjacent units from becoming too hot. Air is expelled through the extractor fan between the control panel and the cooking compartment door.

Basic settings

(9) (14)

Every time you use the oven, you must adjust 2 basic settings:

Use the

  • left toggle switch (9) to set the desired heating method.
  • right toggle switch (14) to set the desired temperature.

Cooking/baking with top/bottom heat

In top/bottom heat mode, your oven operates with a high temperature if needed – depending on the shelf height, the heat is stronger from the bottom or the top. It is particularly suitable for gratinéed dishes, bakes and pizza.

Baking and roasting is, however, only possible on one shelf level.

Cooking/baking with bottom heat

On the bottom of the cooking compartment there is a heating element that supplies additional heat from below. This cooking function is particularly suitable for dishes that require a long cooking time, or for ones that are supposed to have a crispy bottom, e.g. pizza.

Convection and hot air

Your oven operates with hot air. A fan on the back wall of your oven makes sure that heat is distributed evenly.

Convection with top and bottom heat

The heat is produced by top/bottom heat and is distributed evenly by the fan.

Convection is ideal for short-roasted dishes such as chicken pieces, chops or fish and to grill sandwiches or similar with more than 6 portions. This has many benefits:

– Pre-heating is usually redundant.
- The oven temperatures are lower than with top/bottom heat.
- Two levels can be used for baking, roasting or steaming at the same time.
– This all saves electricity, money and time.

Hot air

Additional heat is produced by a ring heater around the fan.

Baking

Please note!

  • Only fill the dough 2/3 of the way up the baking tin, otherwise the dough will overflow and drip into the oven when baking.
  • Place the baking tin on the middle of the oven rack if possible.
  • The best results for cakes are achieved with dark ovenware.
    – Shelf height, temperature and baking time as well as the choice of ovenware all depend on what you want to bake:

  • Flat cakes, e.g. tarts, on the baking tray on the middle bar at approx. 170–180 °C;

  • Half-height cakes, e.g. sponge cakes, on the oven rack on the middle bar at approx. 180 °C;
    – Tall cakes, e.g. pound cakes, in the tin on the lower bar at approx. 175 °C.

- Selecting ovenware for baking with convection is not too important. Cakes will turn out the same in light baking tins.

  1. Slide the baking tin into the oven on the oven rack or baking tray.
  2. Close the cooking compartment door.

(9) (14) (15)(17)

  1. Use the left toggle switch (9) to set the desired heating method.
  2. Use the right toggle switch (14) to set the temperature.
  3. Press the ☐ button (11). The power indicator (17) and temperature indicator light (15) will light up.

  • Roast cured meats, e.g. cured pork, only at low temperatures. Otherwise the nitrate in pickling salt forms nitrosamines that are harmful to humans.
  • It is best to cook frozen meat in a closed pot. Plan approx. 4 to 5 minutes cooking time for every centimetre of height.
  • Roasts weighing more than 1 kilogram are best cooked in the oven. Use the right dishes and a little water/oil to cook; this helps to preserve the vitamins.
  • The roast will rise during cooking. Make sure the shelf is high enough for very high temperatures.
    – Meat with bones takes around 15–30 minutes longer to cook than a similar roast without bones.

  • The safest way to check if the roast is cooked is to use a meat thermometer. By sticking it into the thickest part, the core temperature of the roast will be displayed.

  • Allow meat to stand for around 10 minutes after the cooking time has elapsed. The juices can then distribute more evenly and do not run when cutting.
    – Cook fish in a heatproof dish if possible on the oven rack on the middle or lower level.

Our energy-saving tips

  • Do not pre-heat the oven (except for very lean meat such as fillets, roast beef, etc.).
  • If the cooking time is not longer than 40 minutes, switch off the oven 10 minutes before the cooking time elapses and use the remaining heat.
    – Cook roasts that weigh less than a kilogram on the hob.

  • Place the roast on the oven rack (very fatty meat) or on the dripping pan (lean meat) and slide it into the oven.
The roast should be in the middle of the oven.

  • If you are using the oven rack, make sure to place the dripping pan underneath.

  1. Use the left toggle switch (9) to set the desired heating method.
  2. Use the right toggle switch (14) to set the temperature.
  3. Press the ☐ button (11). The power indicator (17) and temperature indicator light (15) will light up.

The ECO mode

ECO For energy-efficient baking.

When ECO mode is activated, the heating element is electronically controlled to make better use of residual heat and therefore reduce energy consumption. Using ECO mode will slightly extend the cooking time.

ECO mode is especially suited for cooking meat: cooking using this mode will result in juicier meat.

Grill

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Grill - 1

CAUTION!

Fire hazard!

The back wall inside the oven gets very hot.

■ Do not place food to be grilled too far back towards the heating element.

When grilling, meat, poultry and fish brown quickly, become crispy and do not dry out. The crust is easy to digest and is also suitable for bland diets.

Flat pieces of meat and fish, skewers, sausages and watery vegetables (such as tomatoes and onions) are particularly good for grilling.

When grilling, you can choose between grilling, intensive and convection grilling.

Simple grilling

For simple grilling, only the inner grill elements are in operation.

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Simple grilling - 1

natural_image Pure diagram of a three-lobed structure with no text, numbers, or symbols

On the highest shelf, directly underneath the heating element, small or medium-sized portions of meat, fish or poultry can be grilled at the same time.

  1. Use the left toggle switch (9) to set the heating method to "Simple grilling".
  2. Use the right toggle switch (14) to set the temperature.
  3. Press the ☐ button (11) and preheat the oven for a few minutes.
  4. Spread the food to be grilled out on the oven rack.
  5. Place the oven rack on the upper or middle shelf.
  6. Place the dripping pan underneath.
  7. Close the cooking compartment door.

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Simple grilling - 2

The grilling time is approx. 6-10 minutes per side depending on the thickness and type of food being grilled.

Intensive grilling

Intensive grilling means that both grill elements as well as the upper heating element of the oven are in operation.

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Intensive grilling - 1

natural_image Pure diagram of a car interior with no text, numbers, or symbols

Intensive grilling with convection

Grilling with the fan does not have such an intense effect as surface grilling. However, you can grill larger pieces of meat and fish. The food being grilled does not need to be turned.

  1. Place the food to be grilled on the oven rack on the middle shelf and slide it into the oven.
  2. Spread the food to be grilled out on the oven rack.

(9) (14) (15)(17)

  1. Use the left toggle switch (9) to set the heating method to "Intensive grilling with convection".
  2. Use the right toggle switch (14) to set the temperature.
  3. Place the dripping pan underneath.
  4. Close the cooking compartment door.
  5. Press the ☑ button (11).

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Intensive grilling with convection - 2

The grilling time is approx. 20–25 minutes per side depending on the thickness and type of food being grilled.

Drying with convection

Keep the cooking compartment door slightly open for juicy fruit (e.g. plums) in the first 20–30 minutes (e.g. with a wooden spoon) so that moisture can escape.

You will need to plan for different drying times depending on the quality of the food.

– Juicy fruit and vegetables: 10–20 hours
- Other food (e.g. mushrooms): 6–8 hours
– Herbs, bunched: 4–6 hours

  1. Place the reserved food on the baking tray and position it on the middle shelf in the oven.
  2. Close the cooking compartment door.
  3. Use the left toggle switch (9) to set the cooking function to "Convection".
  4. If necessary, use the right toggle switch (14) to set the temperature to 60–80 °C.
  5. Press the Button (11).

Defrosting

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Defrosting - 1

CAUTION!

Health hazard!

Defrosting meat or fish in the oven can cause dangerous microorganisms (such as salmonella) to multiply rapidly, thereby increasing the risk of food poisoning.

■ Do not defrost meat and fi sh in the oven.
■ Only use the defrosting function to defrost vegetables, pre-cooked food, etc.
■ Remove meat and fish from the freezer in time and allow them to defrost whilst covered in the fridge. Liquid resulting from defrosting (e.g. meat) must be able to drain.

Defrosting merely circulates unheated air within the cooking compartment. This accelerates the defrosting process. No heat is applied during defrosting.

In order to make more room in the cooking compartment, you can remove the baking tray guides and place the container with the frozen food directly on the bottom of the oven (see "Removing and cleaning baking tray guides" on page EN-24).

The following conditions must be observed:

  • Do not install the oven directly next to a refrigerator or freezer. This will increase its energy consumption unnecessarily due to heat emission.
    – The best place is next to the sink. You have an additional work surface and dirty dishes can be washed immediately.
  • Before installation, check whether the appliance dimensions are compatible with your furniture dimensions.
  • In respect of fire protection, the oven conforms to Type Y (EC 335-2-6). This type of appliance may only be installed on one side of taller kitchen cabinets, appliances or walls.
  • Your built-in furniture may need to be modified. If you do not have the manual skills to do this, you should hire a professional.

  • Veneers or plastic coverings on the built-in furniture require heat-resistant adhesive (100 °C). If the adhesive and surfaces are not heat-resistant, the covering may warp and come loose.

  • An intermediate shelf is required if a drawer is to be installed below the oven.
  • The installation recess may not have a rear panel, at the most it may have an add-on edge measuring no more than 50 mm.
  • The built-in cabinet can be equipped with either ledges/rails or an intermediate shelf with ventilation cut-out.

- The installation recess must have the following minimum dimensions

- Installation under a worktop

1 600 mm
2 560 mm
③ 570 mm
4 600 mm
⑤ max. 50 mm
6 max. 50 mm

Waste prevention, free return and disposal

Waste prevention

According to the provisions of Directive 2008/98/EC, waste prevention measures always take priority over waste management.

For electrical and electronic devices, waste prevention measures include extending the lifespan of defective devices through repair and reselling used working appliances instead of disposing of them.

Please help us reduce waste and contact our customer service if your product is faulty.

More information can be found in the brochure "Waste Prevention Programme – of the German Government with the Involvement of the Federal States".

Free return of old electrical appliances

Upon purchasing a new electrical appliance of the same type with essentially the same function, consumers may return an old electrical appliance to a distributor obliged to take back old appliances, at no extra cost for the consumers. This option also exists for deliveries made to a private household. For distance selling, the option of having old electrical equipment collected for free applies only in the case of purchase of new electrical equipment with heat exchangers (e.g. refrigerators, dehumidifiers), screens and display devices with a screen surface > 100 cm ^2 , and large devices with at least one of its external dimensions measuring more than 50 cm.

In addition, consumers may return up to three old electrical appliances of the same type to a distributor's collection point for free, without having to purchase a new electrical appliance. In this case, however, the old appliances' external dimensions may not exceed 25 cm.

Disposal

Disposing of old electrical devices in an environmentally friendly manner

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Disposing of old electrical devices in an environmentally friendly manner - 1

Electrical appliances contain harmful substances as well as valuable resources.

Every consumer is therefore re- v law to dispose of old electrical ap- at an authorised collection or return they will thus be made available for mentally-sound, resource-saving re-

You can dispose of old electrical appliances free of charge at your local recycling centre.

Please contact your dealer directly for more information about this topic.

Don't forget to erase data!

If necessary, each consumer is responsible for erasing personal data from electrical and electronic equipment.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries, lamps and bulbs

If necessary, old single-use and rechargeable batteries that are not encased by an old electrical appliance, as well as lamps/bulbs that can be removed from an old electrical appliance without being destroyed, must be removed and disposed of separately before you return the appliance.

Hanseatic 65M90D0-E11319G - Batteries and rechargeable batteries, lamps and bulbs - 1

This symbol means that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with other household waste.

Consumers are required by law to bring all batteries and rechargeable batteries, regardless of whether they contain harmful substances*) or not, to a collection point operat-

ed by their communal authority or borough or to a retailer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and so that valuable resources (e.g. cobalt, nickel or copper) can be recovered.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries can be returned free of charge.

Some of the possible contents (e.g. mercury, cadmium and lead) are toxic and, if improperly disposed of, can have adverse effects on the environment. Heavy metals, for instance, can have detrimental health effects on humans, animals and plants and accumulate in the environment and food chain, and then enter the body indirectly through the consumption of food.

There is a high risk of fire with old lithium batteries. Special care must therefore be taken to properly dispose of old lithium batteries and rechargeable batteries. Improper disposal can also lead to internal and external short circuits due to thermal effects (heat) or mechanical damage. A short circuit can lead to a fire or an explosion and have serious consequences for people and the environment. It is therefore important to tape off the poles of lithium batteries and rechargeable batteries before disposing of them to prevent an external short circuit.

Before disposing of the appliance, batteries and rechargeable batteries which are not permanently built into the appliance must be removed and disposed of separately.

Please only dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries in a discharged state!

If possible, use rechargeable batteries in place of disposable batteries.
