guidelines for

Two B&W audio speakers standing upright on a textured floor, no visible text or symbols on the devices themselves.Electrical connection to the loudspeakers can be made
either by the screw terminals or 1mm banana plugs. The red terminal on the loudspeaker should be connected to the positive terminal on your amplifier, and the black terminal to the negative.
Correct phasing of stereo systems is extremely important, as in correct connection will result in poor stereo reproduction and loss of deep bass. To check your connections, set your amplifier to mono reproduction and place the speakers face-to-face, about 10cm apart. Play some music with deep bass content and if the connections are correct the sound will appear to originate from between the speakers hand with plenty of bass. If the sound is lacking in bass, reverse the connections to one speaker only.
Keep the connecting leads at short as possible and use a cable thickness of at least 2.5mm, preferably 4mm.
loudspeaker positioning
The placement of your loudpeakers and the general room acoustics have a marked effect on the sound reproduction below around 400Hz. The variation in acoustics from room to room makes precise positioning instructions impossible. In general, however, a free standing location and asymmetrical positioning relative to the room boundaries will give better imagery. Avoiding floor and corner mounting will give the most even frequency response. Listening trials in alternative positions are usually rewarded by improvements in the final results.
ancillary equipment
Whilst we cannot recommend specific equipment, the quality of reproduction from 201/202/203i monitors will do justice to the best available components.
Refer to the specifications for the recommended amplifier rating. The power rating is a guide only, and in fact the high efficiency of your speakers allows a wider range of power ratings which will still give acceptable output levels. In general a large amplifier used sensibly is less likely to cause damage than an over-driven small amplifier.
