How do I clean my KitchenAid kettle 5KEK1835A?
Unplug the kettle and let it cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. For descaling, fill with equal parts water and white vinegar up to the max line, boil, let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Use only vinegar or citric acid; avoid harsh chemicals.
What temperature settings are available on the 5KEK1835A?
The kettle offers variable temperature control from 50°C to 100°C, allowing you to heat water to the ideal temperature for tea, coffee, or other beverages. Press the temperature button to cycle through presets or hold to manually adjust.
How do I use the keep warm function?
After heating water to your desired temperature, the kettle will automatically keep the water warm for up to 30 minutes. You can also press the keep warm button to toggle the feature on or off.
Why does my kettle turn off before boiling?
This may be due to the keep warm function or a lower temperature setting. Ensure the temperature is set to 100°C for a full boil. Also check if the kettle is properly seated on the base and that the lid is closed securely.
Can I use the kettle on a hob or stovetop?
No, this is an electric kettle designed for use on its powered base only. Do not place it directly on any heat source such as gas or electric stovetops.
How do I replace the scale filter?
Turn the kettle off and unplug. Open the lid and locate the filter at the spout. Pinch the filter to release it from its holder, then slide it out. Insert the new filter by sliding it into place until it clicks. Replacement filters can be purchased from KitchenAid or authorized retailers.
What capacity does the 5KEK1835A have?
The kettle has a capacity of 1.5 liters, which is enough for approximately 6 cups of water. Do not fill above the max line to avoid overflow.

What safety features does the kettle have?
The kettle is equipped with auto shut-off and boil-dry protection. Auto shut-off turns off the kettle once the water reaches the set temperature or if the kettle is empty. Boil-dry protection prevents damage if the kettle is accidentally switched on without water.
How do I obtain spare parts or service for my KitchenAid kettle?
Spare parts such as lids, bases, and filters can be ordered from KitchenAid's website or through authorized dealers. For repairs, contact KitchenAid customer service or an authorized service center. Do not attempt to open the kettle yourself as it is not user-serviceable.

CARE AND CLEANING

CLEANING THE FILTER

The Electric Kettle features a removable mesh filter that traps scale deposits for cleaner water. The filter will need to be cleaned periodically—more often if you have hard water.

To access filter: Open the lid; the filter is located behind spout inside Electric Kettle. Grasp the top of the filter to remove.

Clean under hot water with a soft brush or cloth to remove deposits, and replace filter by sliding the filter into the slot behind the spout.

NOTE: If calcium deposits remain on the filter, let it stand overnight in a solution of water and white vinegar. Rinse the filter thoroughly and replace in the Electric Kettle.

REMOVING MINERAL DEPOSITS FROM THE INTERIOR

To get the best performance from your Electric Kettle, decalcification will be necessary. Calcium deposits may form on the interior metal parts of the Electric Kettle. The cleaning interval will depend on the hardness of the water you put in the Electric Kettle.

Fill the Electric Kettle with white vinegar to the .25 L mark. Add water to the .75 L mark. Boil (100° C) and allow to stand overnight.

Empty the solution from the Electric Kettle. 2
