Frequently Asked Questions - DTD323 Defy

How do I clean the lint filter?
Open the loading door, remove the two-part filter by pulling upward, remove lint with hand or soft cloth, wash both parts under running water in reverse direction of fibre accumulation, dry them, then reassemble and reinsert.
What should I do if drying takes too long?
Check if the lint filter is clogged, the condenser front is blocked, or the ventilation grills are covered. Also ensure laundry is spun at high speed and not overloaded.
Can I dry wool items in this dryer?
Wool garments are not suitable for machine drying. Use the Wool Refresh programme only for ventilating and softening, not for full drying. Always check the care label.
How do I cancel a running programme?
Turn the On/Off/Program selection knob to cancel. The drum will be hot, so run the Freshen Up programme to cool down before removing laundry.
What is the child lock and how do I activate it?
The child lock prevents button presses during operation. Press and hold Drying Level and Buzzer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate.
Can I install the dryer on top of a washing machine?
Yes, but you must use a fixing device installed by an authorized service. The total weight of both machines (fully loaded) can reach 180 kg. Ensure the floor is solid and level, and follow the installation table for depth compatibility.
What is the energy consumption of the standard cotton programme?
The Cottons Eco programme (standard) consumes 2.17 kWh at full load (9 kg) and 1.16 kWh at partial load. Annual energy consumption is 258.6 kWh based on 160 cycles.
Can I use fabric softener in the dryer?
Yes, use fabric softeners or similar products as per the manufacturer's instructions. However, do not use them in steam programmes if applicable.
How do I drain the water tank?
After each cycle, pull out the water tank from the drawer or container, pour out the condensed water, clean any lint from the funnel under running water, then replace the tank. Alternatively, use the direct drain hose to avoid manual draining.
What refrigerant is used and is it safe?
The dryer uses R290 refrigerant, which is environmentally friendly but flammable. Keep the dryer away from heat sources and ensure good ventilation. Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
