Frequently Asked Questions - DPY 8504 CGM Defy

How often should I clean the lint filter?
Clean the lint filter after each drying cycle. A dirty filter increases drying time and energy consumption.
What should I do if the drying process takes too long?
Check if the lint filter or filter drawer is clogged, if the ventilation grids are blocked, or if the laundry was not spun sufficiently. Also clean the dampness sensor 4 times a year.
Can I dry wool items?
Use the Wool Refresh programme to ventilate and soften woolen laundry. This programme does not dry completely; remove items immediately after the programme ends.
How do I activate the child lock?
Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds. The child lock symbol appears on the display. To deactivate, press and hold again for 3 seconds.
What does the 'Filter Drawer Cleaning' warning mean?
The warning appears every 5 cycles to remind you to clean the filter drawer (sponge and filter cloth) behind the kick plate. Clean it to maintain drying performance.
How do I drain the water tank?
After each cycle, pull out the water tank from the drawer, empty the water, and replace it. If using direct drain connection, the tank does not need emptying.
Can I open the door during a programme?
Yes, press Start/Pause to pause, then open the door. Add or remove laundry, close the door, and press Start/Pause again to resume. Frequent opening increases drying time.
What should I not dry in the dryer?
Do not dry items soiled with oil, chemicals, or flammable substances. Also avoid items with rubber foam, metal reinforcements, or unwashed laundry. Check garment labels.
How do I clean the dampness sensor?
Open the door, let the machine cool, then wipe the metal sensor surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with vinegar. Dry them thoroughly. Do not use metal tools.
What is the Anti-creasing function?
After the programme ends, the dryer rotates laundry every 240 seconds to prevent creasing. You can set the duration (30, 60, or 120 minutes) or deactivate it.
